Another Near Miss

Had a blast doing the radio show, I'm gonna miss it starting next week, but if things work out I might be a host on random nights...woot woot.

I got close again.

I don't have the stats since I went out in 19th and my table broke but I think my flops seen was 8% and my showdowns were 10 of 12. Since you all like HHs here was the final hand.

Maybe the first one I smooth call and hope to induce a squeeze not sure? The second one may have been suspicous because of the raise?

Like last night I get in position to win this and timing sucks. KK and KK with no action, then AJ < KJ to go out. Any luck and I'm top three and we play it out. Oh well there is always tomorrow. At least I don't get it in behind all day and suck out.

sux to go out like that Don. why not raise 2.5x with KK late in a tournament? some donkey might push his Ace-crap or pocket pair into you.

I think $mokkee is right about the raise and you are right about the smooth call. I've been looking at videos on RPT and one of the things that struck me is that "to get action you have to give action". Not sure how tight you were up to these points but 8% flops seen might not get you enough action when you get a real hand.

Tough break to bust out to the donkey. Big score is coming.

Gross hand! I def smooth call the first KK hand. The second one I just make my normal raise, whatever I had been open raising to up to that point. Nice finish!

I agree on the smooth call. The second KK hand, it's really a tough spot, I don't know if changing the amount you bet would have significantly changed the chance of you getting any action. Just unfortunate luck.

Your bustout hand is so typical of many a knockout at the hands of the big stack. Those guys have so many chips that they feel any two paint cards are gold, so there's really no fold equity. Not that you want him folding that hand to your AJ. Sucks to go out like that, but you got your money in as a dominant favorite, that's all you can do.

I like the way you played both KK hands. I think it's all too easy to second-guess making the right plays based on the results you got. You smooth call with the KK, and Ace flops and you either fold or get stacked by Ace-rag.

Well played man, keep up the great work.

Nice job man. Going that deep and keeping us entertained on the radio all at once? Well done.
