Tony Dungy,one of the best human beings on the planet, although a horrible father.
Tony Dungy, one of the most overrated head coaches in NFL history.
If Tony was not such a right wing, conservative Christian, black man, he would have been run out of town as a coach...wait he was run out of Tampa and the next coach won with that talent.
He did win a Super Bowl with Indy, totally riding Peyton Manning and Bob Sanders jock straps, and a fixed Super Bowl, but he did ruin seven (7) decent teams.
Tony Dungy will go to the Hall of Fame due to his right wing beliefs and his half blackness.
As a coach, he was terrible.
I hope he helps young men better than he was a coach.

Don, i have loved your blog for awhile, and grew a man-crush when you were so honest on your past history.
I am a LIFELONG Bucs fan (since 78) and seem to be the only person i know that knew Dungy was over-rated. The credit he gets for "building" the Bucs actually belongs to Sam Wyche. Wyche drafted the lynchpins of the Buc's defense, and then Gruden brings in offensive talent and an aggressive approach and we win the big one.
He is constantly sold as the greatest humanitarian in the sport, but leaves his troubled son all alone thousands of miles away so he could lose another first round playoff game?
Good riddance...
I guess that's why Dungy was considered the best coach among active coaches year-after-year... only voted upon by over 1000+ players, owners, and affiliates.
Give me a break.
Dungy is a mediocre coach and his teams have consistently underperformed over his career.
Truthfully, winning only one superbowl with that Colts team he had should be viewed as the abomination that it is instead of like it's the one win that justifies Dungy's greatness forever. The guy left Tampa Bay and the new coach won right away in his first try, and then he came to Indy with the greatest offensive powerhouse of all time and could barely win shizznot.
Dungy = highly mediocre coach.

But Gruden never won another Super Bowl either.
