NBA

NBA starts tonight and it should be interesting with all the hype that will be given to the Miami Heat. As a Heat fan I don't mind at all but I'm sure fans around the world who do not like the Heat are probably already sick of all the hype. I personally think Miami will be meeting the Lakers in the Finals with the Heat winning in six games.

Here are a few future bets I like this year.

Philly Over 35 wins
Sacramento Over 27 wins
N Orleans Under 41 wins
Cleveland Under 31 wins

I also made a donk bet on Miami -1 tonight over Boston.

Oct 24

Hilton Contest 14-15-1
Buffalo +13
Washington +2'
Tampa Bay -2'
San Diego -2'
Dallas -3'

Barely treading water in this thing. Maybe this will be the week I get over the hump.

I'm fired up big time for the Miami-Pittsburgh game today. A huge home game for Miami and this should measure exactly what this team is; either a .500 team or a team that has a chance to make a playoff run. It also begins a four game stretch of Pitt, @Cin, @Balt, Tenn. I'll take 2-2 for these four games which would put Miami at 5-4 at a point where the schedule gets a lot easier. They still have to go on the road to the Jets and Patriots so Miami could be looking at 10-6 or quite possibly 11-5 if they can somehow win one of the two division road games.

It was nice to see the Hurricanes play with some emotion in the second half last night and finally bury a decent North Carolina team. It was Shannon's first win over Butch Davis after losing the previous three and it' puts Miami on a collision coarse with Virginia Tech for the ACC Coastal Division Title and a rematch v. Florida St in the ACC Title game, something the ACC has been looking for since the conference went to 12 teams back in 2005.

It should be an interesting World Series between Texas and San Fran. I'll stick to my National League guns and root for San Fran. Hopefully it will go seven tense games and Texas doesn't just whip their asses in four blowouts.

I miss Vegas. I need to move back. Oh and I miss you baby. Maybe someday right.

Dolphins got blown out on National TV. The Hurricanes not only got blown out but they quit on National TV. I'm single again (for real this time) after 18 months. Rough week man. On the bright side the weather broke here about three weeks early so no humidity and it's gorgeous outside.

I love Les Miles. He's got the biggest nut sack out of any coach, at any sport, at any level. Man that guy gambles, he's not afraid to lose, he's not afraid to be criticized, and his teams are exciting and fun to watch. It's also nice to see him beat Florida too.

How about Boise St.? Put them in the SEC West and tell me how they do against LSU, Alabama, Auburn, and Arkansas throw in Florida and South Carolina from the SEC East and do they even finish .500 in conference? Answer that question please before you rank them #3 in the country.

Tough week in the NFL

Hilton Contest 10-10. Stupidly took Miami two weeks in a row. 12-8 would look much better.
Baltimore -7
Buffalo -1
Green Bay -2'
Houston -2'
Detroit -3

Shit five favorites. How scary is that especially since I'm mostly a dog bettor.

Last Man Standing Amazingly made it to Week 5 and I'm totally undecided this week.
Green Bay -2'

I don't have any real huge plays this week. It's a strange week because there is only one division game so we get lots of match-ups with teams who aren't used to playing the other team so there is really no extra emotion involved. Maybe try to find a trap game where a team is coming off a big divisional win and then has a big divisional game again next week.

Enjoy the games.

Sunday Oct 3

At least I didn't lose. I really thought long and hard about betting both Stanford and Florida but thankfully I decided to pass on both games. Both games had trap lines, where the books where giving the bettor what looked like a ton of points and in both cases they just looked too good to be true. In Vegas, any time it looks too good to be true immediately bet the other way so while I didn't make bet against the too good to be true and make money, at least I didn't fall into the trap to throw money away on Stanford and Florida.

Denard "Shoelace" Robinson, from down here in Deerfield Beach and now the QB at Michigan has to be the front runner for the Heisman Trophy. The kid puts up 500 yards of total offense every week and he has all the RIch Rodriquez doubters up in Ann Arbor quiet for a change. If I hear Tyrell Pryor's name in the same breathe as Shoelace then the Heisman is a popularity contest and it should be cancelled for the travesty. I'm just saying.

Hilton Contest 7-8, Yes that sucks.
San Fran +7
Buffalo +5
Washington +6
NY Giants -4
Miami +1

Last Man Standing 1 pick remaining.
Washington +6

Okay I'll bite on McNabb coming back to Philly and making it a game v. the way overrated Eagles. I had it narrowed the Skins or taking the Giants over the horribly phony 3-0 Chicago Bears. In the eyes of a bettor the Bears are 1-2 and were absolutely gifted two wins so I see let down time on a short week for that phony bunch.

I hate laying big numbers and I got bit in the ass for relapsing and betting on N England laying -13 last week but I'm not sure how a crappy phony 2-1 Arizona will keep it close to an angry and pissed off San Diego. That line is up to 9' and if you like San Diego I'd say get it before it gets to 10.

My plays for this week. 8-5 +2.9 units on the season.
Washington +6
NY Giants -4
Miami +1'

Donkey bet- 3 team six point teaser. 1:8 to 1
Tenn Pick
Atlanta -1
NY Jets Pick

Two Team Parlay 2.6 to 1
NY Giants -4
Miami +1'

I will be checking out the lines for the single matches at the Ryder Cup and I might make a wager or two depending on the match ups. I'm not a fan of Mickelson, Bubba Watson, Jim Furyk, and I am a fan of Jeff Overton, Hunter Mahan, and Steawrt Cink. We'll see how those match-ups go before I pull the trigger.

And finally a big shout out to my baby. May you do well in your mini-triathlon this morning and that you are able to set personal bests in all three phases. I know for you it's all about competing against yourself and finishing more than it is the times but I'll still be rooting for personal bests. Also, don't forget the full body massage when it's all over. I'll be sure to get all those special areas that aren't totally used to swimming and biking okay babes, with particular close attention to those that fits perfectly into the palms of my hands. Love you baby. I know you kicked ass!

Ryder Cup

How about some Ryder Cup Action.

Four-ball
Johnson & Mickelson +138
Day One Four-ball Winner Tie +275 (Meaning score will be tied 2-2 after Morning Four-ball) Tough bet here Europe has won this bet 10 of last 12. I'm hoping for wins from Mickelson and Woods groups.

Back with more if I find some more bets and I somehow stay awake.

Also I'd like to say NBC's decision to tape delay the weekend action is a joke. What is this the 1978 NBA Finals. At least do what ESPN is doing now with live coverage followed by Tape Delay later. No wonder those liberal clowns at NBC have no clue to what they are doing when it comes to broadcasting.

Enjoy the recruiting trip with GC today baby. I can't wait to hear all about it. Awesome "seeing" you again today.
