Jungle Juice Part I

Man what a day, it's nearly ten, my buzz is kickin' in full, thank god for sunscreen, and as we all know...Day Drinking Rules.

I woke up early, like 8am, after a greatly needed nine hour sleep. I send some emails back and forth to my baby, handicapped by Spring Break, chatted for a while with a new friend then an old friend, ran some errands, getting some nice NY Strips on sale, got home, ran into my roommate and I said, "Let's go to the pool."

He deals poker at a big named Casino but he's off Monday-Wednesday and he was totally in. He called, Denise and Pat, co-workers to come over and join us. Heck it was 2pm so I figured, what the fuck, haven't done this since the Florida days so I mixed up a batch of Jungle Juice.

I'm sure everybody has a variety of Jungle Juice, mine happens to be extremely potent. Take a big thermus/cooler type and fill it to the brim with ice. Add as much Vodka as you think needed, then add the secret weapon, Tequila. The mix is mostly cranberry, a couple shots of tonic, and a few splashes of Mountain Dew, yes Mountain Dew, Four Loko meets Jungle Juice.

I'll preface this by saying I come from a very fun hard drinking family. Both immediate and extended. Way too many stories to tell but I do no this, it's 50/50 somebody or multiple somebodies get out of hand before the day is out, and as a gambling family, everybody bets on oneself that they won't be the one.

I make the concoction, me and my roommate, L, head to the pool as he awaits his poker dealer friends. We get to the pool and WTF, it's Spring Break. Too many fucking kids running around, not enough supervision but my eyes do lock on to the adults. First thing I see my downstairs caddy-corner neighbors Melissa and Yasmine, my dancer/adult entertainer friends. I haven't seen them so much lately as our schedules don't seem to mesh but it was great to run into them on "Tuesday Afternoon."

Seems my outgoing Midwestern friendly roommate had already met them so we said our "Highs" and pull up some lounge chair next to them. Right there after L's crew pulled up and we had a party going. Okay seven us, let me pull the trump card, Jungle Juice time. "Hey everybody I made a pitcher, it's Tuesday afternoon, we're at the pool and not at work, it's 83 degrees, time for some Jungle Juice. I even think I heard a couple "Hell Ya's" as I pulled the plastic cups out of my backpack.

I made the pours, beaming with glee, (did I just type beaming with glee) and after a long cool mega-sip I surveyed the surroundings. Again too many kids, but I did see too hot woman hanging out so I took my drink, the jug of Jungle Juice, my plastic cups, and definitely my day drinking charm and off I went.

I'll be right back I informed everybody, especially Grace. I took the Jungle Juice, another cup and walked over to the other very hot red-headed woman at the pool. "Hey how are you we're thinking of doing an Adult Swim over there, here is your cup of freedom, would you care to join us?" Of course she readily accepted. Her name was Cara, and I found out soon enough she had three kids, all staying with their dads for the day, she was definitely in. I brought her over, introduced her, and pulled up a lounge chair next to me on the other side of Grace.

The sun was beating down, the Jungle Juice was taking effect, man life was so fucking good. After a half hour I noticed too many 12-13 year olds congregating in our end of the pool. Melissa and Jasmine, twenty something hot strippers with killer bodies, then Grace and Cara, with their banging having kids bodies must have had these youngsters too worked up. My roommate must have noticed the same thing and he got up from his lounge, rushed to the pool and told all the boys, "Get your newly rubbing out dicks out of here," "Let these woman enjoy their day at the pool in peace." The Jungle Juice made another round and soon enough, done. The buzzes were flowing hard, we still had a couple hours of sunshine left so I bravely said, "I'm out of Vodka, and Ice but I have some mix, can anybody help with the next batch?"

L seemed to be working hard on Denise, and I'm sure Pat had a tent in his speedo next too the two hot strippers working hard on their tan lines. Sure enough Cara and Grace both said they could help with the next batch. Grace, said I have a great bottle of Effen Vodka, we'll use that and let's go to my house first, my old man, (do I love when they say old man)with be home soon and I'd rather not be there when he does. Fine by me, fine by Cara, fine by all those ready for the next drink of Jungle Juice.

Her son has been quiet and occupied by four or five other kids his age. She runs by and asks the portly woman in the tent of a one piece if she'll look after her son, she has to run home for a minute and will be right back. "Sure," says the woman with a Southern accent unusual to Vegas. Her son barely even notices her, as they are wearing goggles and diving for coins in the deep end of the hot tub. Off we go, my mostly buzzed mind thinking what a good day so far.

We get to Grace's house and she pulls out a full bottle of Vodka, alas no ice. I offer that we'll bring the bottle head to Cara's house get the ice, head to my house get the mix, and we'll be good to go in no time. Grace agrees instantly and excuses herself to go to her bedroom to go "potty" and write her note. She isn't gone for a second when Cara coils herself up to me, wraps her arms around me and lays a big tongue filled kiss right on me.

Been a long week, not much done. Masters weekend, way too much Vodka, not enough food, hopes, dreams, fantasies, some of which may have come true, some I'm not sure if it was dreams, thoughts, pukes, or fucking reality.

Here we go again. And again and again. Seriously I don't even try but for some reason I can't avoid it...Yes I got picked up again.

Let's go back a little. This is the height of March Madness, well just after actually and I went down to the V to pick up on some afterthoughts. What I mean by that is the stragglers who were smart enough to book a flight late Monday but not smart enough to donk of the rest of their rolls on the poker tables as they waited for their flights.

Funny to think about it but back in the day when I waited tables, I always worked Mondays because after the weekend, and the parties, and the beach, or just old Jewish people being lazy, Monday was a good and busy day in the restaurant. I mean fuck, not many cook on Monday, let alone if you are single and have been partying all weekend, but I regress.

I've learned Monday poker is very good. Catch the homeward bound donk who has no problem leaving what's left of their roll at the table and if I play smart enough and isolate, well then Monday is a big hourly rate day.

So I head down to the Venetian to take part in this new found cash machine and feeling like it's time to add to the roll. I check in at the desk and get assigned to Table 22. For those who have played the Venetian Table 21 is directly behind the check in desk so that put me at the second table. Things start off fairly "nitty" so per usual I look around at the other tables near me, perhaps finding a table change or yet finding something to look at.

I didn't pay that much attention as I was busy concentrating on the game but as the boredom of folding set in I noticed we started making eye contact. What a Week

I love this time of the year. March Madness heating up, Baseball opening day, the NBA play-offs around the corner, the April Venetian Deep Stack which leads right into the WSOP. It's a great time to be in Vegas.

Opening day sucked for the Cardinals. The team was uninspired, they made too many mistakes, a real lackluster effort. I wonder if this contract thing is going to weigh on Albert Pujols seeing he went 0-5. He popped up in the first with a runner on third and one out, then proceeded to hit in to three double plays. I expect a big year from Albert but the pressure is really on him. He sucks this year St. Louis will have a ton of payroll to play with the next few years. Let's hope today was just a horrible day and the Cards will fight for the pennant.

I've been playing poker on off days the last couple of weeks. Usually it's Thursday-Sunday but since March Madness it's been more random days instead. I start watching the tournament games that started at 9am Vegas time and I just can't seem to pull myself away. That's alright though, next few months I'll probably be spending 60-80 hours a week grinding out a years worth of bills in a three to four month period.

Speaking of poker I'm still taking some shots playing the Texas Hold'em Poker tournament at the Orleans. Last week I donked off early but still there were 271 players which gave a first place of just over $6700. Awesome really for $125. Decent field, great structure if any locals want to come down and play.

Finally got some couches for my living room.

I only had a recliner but now I'm styling with some real furniture. A big thanks to Angelo and Ellen for getting a new leather set and kicking me their out (late2008) set. Between the new couches and the awesome foam bed, I'll be having the hotties up here in no time. Oh and if you are a hottie and want to come over, give me a shout, I promise I'll show you a great time.

Some white trash neighbor, who just happened to get evicted two days after, sucker punched my ass. I did get up off the sidewalk and beat that fucker down. Yes a couple of drinks before the ruckus, but no need to sucker punch. I guess his life is fucked and I'm the big guy he wanted a shot at. That certainly backfired for his punk ass. Cops came a couple hours later and it was either we both go or we both stay. He got shy on the Clark County Detention Center so we both got to stay. Punk ass.

I do have some other good stories to tell, but I'll save them in case nothing interesting happens in the next few days. Well interesting seems to follow me around but they involve me, a poker table, two hot married woman, (separate days separate woman) and my talents. I guess it's a good week to win at poker, break even almost at college hoops, have two different married chicks want me badly (are any married women happy) get in a fight, get new furniture, and have a very successful meeting. Ya, just an average week.

Sweet Sixteen

Sweet Sixteen time. Vegas won't be rockin' quite as crazy as last weekend but there still will be plenty of action at the sports books and poker rooms. I had a break even first weekend and luckily I bailed out late on Florida St to get to there but I primed for some wins this weekend.

First pick is BYU +3 and BYU +135 on Money Line. I was wrong on BYU last weekend but I think the seeds are backwards and the wrong team is favored.

I also like San Diego St which is currently a Pick'em. I'm going to wait and hope some UConn public money comes in and hope gets me a point or a point and a half.

That's it for today as I'm passing on the other two games.

On the Poker front, I'll be heading down to the Venetian for some more cash games today, then I'll probably play the Orleans tourney tomorrow night. The Venetian has been packed lately so let's hope for some juicy games with all the March Madness nuts in town to drink, bet basketball, and gamble.

Also hoping for some overflown crowd at the Orleans tourney tomorrow. That has become the Friday night spot and a chance to turn $125 into $7000 knocking off the locals.

I've played maybe 10 Mookie's this year, I've won two and get two outed on the river in the other 8. I can't bitch too much about last night because BrainMc two outed me but of course I two outed him at the WPBT and that led me to the win. I want to take lessons from Joe C to learn how to run like Athena. Someday right?

So what's up in Vegas? Cash games good, tournaments meh. Played the Orleans last Friday and bubbled the fucker. Out in 28th, top 25 paid. It's actually a very good tournament, mostly all locals, lots of dealers, floor people, semi-grinders, and occasionally the big named pros. For $125 and with first place usually over $7K it's a great tournament to build ones game. I hope to take that down within the next few weeks.

It is March Madness so I'll be living at the Venetian for the next couple weeks playing all cash games. Lots of people in town wanting to gamble, drink, bet on the basketball games, and playing poker. The room will be jam packed, so good times all around. It won't be a good weekend for the ladies since most of these guys leave their other half at home but if a girl ever wanted to come to Vegas and life multiple fantasies (other than the girl-girl) these next two weeks would be it. Sausage fest of gambling, drinking, and playing poker.

Two years ago March 13th. Crazy how things began and how they've progressed but they are still going with no end in sight. Love you baby.

Oh and since every other fucking old/new school blogger is getting in shape, I'm getting on the band(wagon) as well. Running, gym, better diet, less Vodka, and I'm in the game too. I haven't stepped on a scale lately but I'm guessing just over 230 seeing how the pants are fitting. The goal is 215. You think you love me now ladies, wait for another six months and you'll seriously be in big trouble.

Boring right. I hope I don't lose that edge, my appeal right?

Yes, it's time for another blog post, yes I promised two a week no matter what but let me say this one officially doesn't count due to perhaps circumstances beyond my control. Tomorrow will be a monumental day either good or bad and I give a pardon until then.

Today meant a lot to me and not just because of the NCAA brackets but for personal reasons. I guess I'll find out MY standing after the pardon period expires. Until then, know I'm glad to be back, I will continue writing, I'll keep everybody up-to-date on my comings and goings and I feel I'm about to make a run of epic proportions...at least for me.

Here's the word. I'm back in Vegas, I'm living small, I'm grinding again for a living, and I've got the wood for March Madness. Golf has just begun again, 70s within' 4 months, (I'll take all side bets even money) I've started getting back in shape, pharmie free for over 4 months, still like a taste of vodka from time to time...oh yes and an occasion escort/hooker/bar pick up but just be gone in the morning when I wake up with a sans opiate hangover.

And of course I still miss my beautiful baby in St. Louis. Actually I hope to grind an airline ticket and some buy-ins for the WSOP-Circuit at Harrah's St. Louis from March 29th-April 13th. Anybody want to take a trip to the Lou for some Circuit donkaments and some juicy Midwest cash games? Free digs, you just have to go drink or grind cash when my baby comes over because we certainly take over the whole crib. Seriously though, free digs, we can swap shares, two weeks in the Lou, catch some Cardinal games, and of course, cocktails.

The best thing I did was leave Vegas, quit poker, and go back to work. 20 months I was gone. I'll say this to anybody who took a shot and either got bored, flamed out, or that that work would fulfill that missing piece or your soul,...you'll be back. It's just the fact. I had a successful business and sold it, I got recruited to go back to Florida and get hands on to do a start up. I thought my ego and needs would be met, make big money, be in charge and my assessment of that; it sucked ball(s). I'd much rather grind, take some shots at tournaments, live on the cheap, bang random fly-over-state hotties, and come and go as I want.

Look, this is all just me. There are a lot of days I think a wife, three kids, 9-5, would sooth my soul, but at almost 46 years old, time for that has passed me by. Perhaps a hottie from E'ville with a late born child, yes I'd raise that beautiful child, but other than that, I just think it's too late to be tamed. For the other 98%, yes at times I envy the stability, but when it comes down to it, why now?

I'm still on a small string, I need to run good early as my buy-in level is under 15. I still like to take chances and if I love a college hoops bet this week I'll take a shot. Same at the poker table, if the game is great, if the situation is perfect, shit yes I'd put my whole roll down on one cash game, I'd take my shot, I'd fucking go for it. I did that with my life in the past, way more important than a bankroll, never mind I invested everything I had and what I could borrow on a wing and a prayer and I turned that into a successful business. Sometimes you just have to go for it, take a risk, let the walls down and put your ball(s) or vag on the the line.

And one big lesson, no sense judging people. I've learned how wrong that is. Unless you've walked in somebodies shoes, well you certainly can't know what they think. I will give unsolicited advice to many Twitter friends that constantly call people dumb or stupid, you might want to stop. Intelligence is way overrated, and those who thing they are superior when it comes to smarts, really you show your insecurities. And really nobody gives a fuck when you take a shit, or rub one out, or are at the bar, or this store, or this restaurant. Check yourself. Again just advice.

I think I've grown up, I think I see more clearly although I know I need 'readers' but I'm too lazy to go get some even though I want to be a semi-grey hair with a the rope around my neck that lets my glasses hang. I've been humbled but I'm still confident. I'm still highly competitive and I still think I'll kick your ass although variance may play a roll. I've stop judging although I'll always observe. Don't ask me what I think if you don't want to hear what I may say. I'll also stand up for those who can't for themselves. Don't hit a woman, or bully somebody, or talk out your ass because I will intervene.

Live and learn. Live and let live. Get busy living or get busy dying.

For those I've offended, I'm sorry, I hope you forgive. For those who saw past the facade, I embrace you. Thank you for seeing the real me.

I'll have a much more extensive trip report and a recap of the tourney run very soon. I got to do it right this year, thanks to Skidoo and Waffles sharing their room. With no worrying about driving home I got to do the late night at the Geisha bar which I closed down around 5:30am with none other than my good friend Iggy.

Iggy actually pulled the trophy out of the box right before we crashed and although I took a quick look I wasn't going to touch it until I won it, and as we all know now it's exactly what I did. Not bad, closing down the Geisha bar with Iggy, three hours sleep, trying not to puke during breakfast at Aria, a zombie like state as the tourney started, then lots and lots of focus as the tourney started going deep.

While you wait for the rest of the details I will leave you with this.

Game Day

Big game tonight for the Dolphins as they host the Bears. Third-string QB Tyler Thigpen gets the start after both Pennington and Henne were hurt in last Sunday's win over Tennessee. I've been a fan of Thigpen since his days in KC and I think he just may have a future in the NFL. With all the Dolphin injuries I'm amazed that the line is still Miami -1, which of course is the side to take.

Looking forward to Vegas in a big way but I've made somewhat of a pit stop on the way. I'll be seeing some family over the Thanksgiving holidays as well as seeing/saying goodbye to a long lost/new found love that for some reason against all odds we just can't shake each other.

Honestly, I never thought I would feel this way about anybody. I never have before and I just thought this sort of love and passion was going to pass me by. Two years, long distance, many quick trips, tons of Skype, way too many chats and emails, one great big uphill climb for both of us but neither can let go.

I do have tons written about it, fuck it was my only outlet for some hard nights, some longing, some heart ache, and oh some of the absolute best times of my life. I do know when I leave that when I look into that rear view mirror on I go, it's goodbye, it's on to my new life in Vegas and back to her life in the Midwest.

Probably too much information, but you know me, I'm not afraid to bare my soul nor share my stories and perhaps someday it will pay off in a gigantic way.

Sports bar time almost. Go Miami Dolphins.

Moving West Again

Well I've been on the road so there haven't been any more .500 football picks lately. No great loss for sure.

So what's up you may wonder? I'm working my way westward and I should be back in Vegas for good right after Thanksgiving. Florida has run it's course, my days in the drug and rehab field are definitely over as I can't stand to deal with these young spoiled kids and their even more fucked up parents.

I originally took a job with a start-up, setting up everything needed to run a 100 bed post-treatment recovery residence, then once everything was in place and the operation starting humming, the owner decided he would become the Director which of course sent me to the curb. Looking back he did me a huge favor so I'm over that finally.

Florida has become too old, too third-world, to shady, too New York for my tastes anymore. Sure the winter is awesome with the weather but I'm tired of dealing with grey hairs every day. I always loved living in Vegas so I'm heading back to start over there again, same as I did in 2006. I can't wait.

That's my story in a nutshell. Sure I've made a hundred attempts to revive this here blog but I'm hoping I can get some momentum going with the move and I can update life again once I get back to Vegas. Hopefully life will be full and exciting again and there will be tons to report; poker, gambling, fun, partying, woman, the works.

So also this means I will be in Vegas for the blogger festivities come December which brings me a ton of excitement. Can't wait to see a lot of you guys and girls again and to also meet some of the new kids. Oh and right there is a poker tournament going on so if I can talk Chad into playing we'll need a third to join the team. Anybody still looking join a winning team? Cracknaces, MiamiDon, and who will be the third?

NBA starts tonight and it should be interesting with all the hype that will be given to the Miami Heat. As a Heat fan I don't mind at all but I'm sure fans around the world who do not like the Heat are probably already sick of all the hype. I personally think Miami will be meeting the Lakers in the Finals with the Heat winning in six games.

Barely treading water in this thing. Maybe this will be the week I get over the hump.

I'm fired up big time for the Miami-Pittsburgh game today. A huge home game for Miami and this should measure exactly what this team is; either a .500 team or a team that has a chance to make a playoff run. It also begins a four game stretch of Pitt, @Cin, @Balt, Tenn. I'll take 2-2 for these four games which would put Miami at 5-4 at a point where the schedule gets a lot easier. They still have to go on the road to the Jets and Patriots so Miami could be looking at 10-6 or quite possibly 11-5 if they can somehow win one of the two division road games.

It was nice to see the Hurricanes play with some emotion in the second half last night and finally bury a decent North Carolina team. It was Shannon's first win over Butch Davis after losing the previous three and it' puts Miami on a collision coarse with Virginia Tech for the ACC Coastal Division Title and a rematch v. Florida St in the ACC Title game, something the ACC has been looking for since the conference went to 12 teams back in 2005.

It should be an interesting World Series between Texas and San Fran. I'll stick to my National League guns and root for San Fran. Hopefully it will go seven tense games and Texas doesn't just whip their asses in four blowouts.

I miss Vegas. I need to move back. Oh and I miss you baby. Maybe someday right.

Dolphins got blown out on National TV. The Hurricanes not only got blown out but they quit on National TV. I'm single again (for real this time) after 18 months. Rough week man. On the bright side the weather broke here about three weeks early so no humidity and it's gorgeous outside.

I love Les Miles. He's got the biggest nut sack out of any coach, at any sport, at any level. Man that guy gambles, he's not afraid to lose, he's not afraid to be criticized, and his teams are exciting and fun to watch. It's also nice to see him beat Florida too.

How about Boise St.? Put them in the SEC West and tell me how they do against LSU, Alabama, Auburn, and Arkansas throw in Florida and South Carolina from the SEC East and do they even finish .500 in conference? Answer that question please before you rank them #3 in the country.

At least I didn't lose. I really thought long and hard about betting both Stanford and Florida but thankfully I decided to pass on both games. Both games had trap lines, where the books where giving the bettor what looked like a ton of points and in both cases they just looked too good to be true. In Vegas, any time it looks too good to be true immediately bet the other way so while I didn't make bet against the too good to be true and make money, at least I didn't fall into the trap to throw money away on Stanford and Florida.

Denard "Shoelace" Robinson, from down here in Deerfield Beach and now the QB at Michigan has to be the front runner for the Heisman Trophy. The kid puts up 500 yards of total offense every week and he has all the RIch Rodriquez doubters up in Ann Arbor quiet for a change. If I hear Tyrell Pryor's name in the same breathe as Shoelace then the Heisman is a popularity contest and it should be cancelled for the travesty. I'm just saying.

I absolutely slaughtered the NFL last weekend, posting a record of 6-1 for +5.2 units. I'm off to a fantastic start in football and I had a huge win last night on Arizona and if the Pats beat the Jets today, personally I'll be off to the best start of my life as I did jack up the amount of the Arizona and New England bets because of my fantastic start in Week One.

I'm not entirely crazy about the lines this week and the discipline I used yesterday to only bet one game will be in play again today with a couple small real life wagers. The Hilton Contest I have to pick five games and I have four entries left in the Last Man Standing

College Football Saturday 09/18

College Football for Saturday.

2-2-1 on the season for college.

Well I made a bet on Arizona +2 and Arizona on the ML +125 on Wednesday after Chad and I reviewed this weekends action. We also took the Pats at -1 then too before that line got bet up but I'll add that in on tomorrow's plays.

As for what I've been posting on this blog I have no college picks this week. The schedule sucks, the lines suck, so I'm not going to force anything at this point. I will continue to look into the later games and if something catches my eye or I get a hot tip I'll post the play.

There has been a lot of line movement so far this year and if you are playing the games this year I hope you are keeping an eye on the numbers from as soon as Monday and you're not afraid to make a bet early in the Week if you really like the game. Even half a point makes a huge difference so there is no sense in liking a game and losing 2 points because you didn't pull the trigger early.

Look at the Pats-Jets game on Sunday. If you liked the Pats and you see the game opened at -1 and you think the Pats will win then you have to bet it right then. Sure it could swing the other way but then you can still get your money in again on the Pats at say Pick'em but with all the Jets meltdown the is everywhere in the media it was obvious the Pats number was going to go up and it's now actually up to -3. Huge difference between -1 and -3 and it makes no sense to miss -1.

Of course if you like the Jets well it was smart to wait and you might be able to wait even more because while I don't think it will go to +3' it may go to +3 -105 or +3 even.If you do like the Jets I'd take it at +3 now just in case it goes down to +2' then you can still put more on it if you can get -105 or even.

I hope everybody is kicking ass on the games as well as on the felt, heck in life too. I'll catch you all in the morning with some pro picks. Hopefully I can keep the momentum going there as I destroyed the books in Week One of the NFL.

Oh yea, Fulham gets their first win of the EPL season with a come from behind victory over Wolverhampton 2-1 with an injury time winner from striker Mousa Dembele. The summer arrival from AZ Alkmaar also scored in the 49th minute giving him his first two Premier League goals for Fulham who are still an unbeaten 1-0-3 for 6 points so far in the early going.

So the Super Bowl is going to New York? If that is not the dumbest shit I ever heard. I can only hope for a monster Nor'easter to hit the area, close all the airports, and to wreak havoc on all the festivities.

While on New York, and as a Miami Dolphin fan, it's obvious I hate the Jets so I'll give you some good reading about how the Jets ownership is dumb, continually fucking their fans, and a total low class outfit. So you got the first class Giants and no class Jets. Are the fans divided along those lines too?

Anyway, the Jet's have 17,000 PSLs still left to sell, and if they don't sell them all of their games will be blacked out in the New York area. What a total embarrassment that would be.

Here is some more good reading about the draft parties the Giants and the Jets had. Now will finish it off with screwing the fans ever more on the parking issues.

Okay it's Wednesday how about a story.

So I drove down to the South Side, around the Jefferson and Chippewa area, and started my life as a booster. I stopped at this flop house that would be home for the next couple months that belonged to a life long addict who went by Two Liter. Well it didn't belong to him, he was allowed to sleep in the basement and he had no access to the main floor of the house but recently his step father had died and his mother was in the hospital on her death bed too so Two Liter had taken over the house. Staying with him was his cousin Bobby who would make up the third person on our crew.

So I picked them up, we went and copped some dope, and started working. Now I had some experience in crime, but nothing had me prepared for being a full time booster. These guys were going to show me the ropes on how to make it on the street as a heroin addict, how to make money, what to steal, who the fences were, what each fence bought, how to spot security, where to park, planning exits, and how to think on your feet in the heat was on. Man talk about exciting, I was fired up.

Now my buddy Drunken Pete from earlier stories had been a booster for a long time and in the past I had driven him around as he stole bottles of booze that we would sell to bar owners down in the scary North side. My role here had consisted of driving but at times it was also to distract. Say we'd go into Walgreens, I'd go the person at the counter and start asking them questions about the high priced bottles then kept behind the counter. I'd have them take some bottles down saying I needed to by a gift for a bachelor party or some other shit, I'd quiz them about the bottle, why did it cost so much, and while I did that Pete would slip in and put three .750 mls. into his waist band and walk out the door. If the place looked really good, I'd keep talking to the oblivious clerk and Pete would come back in and take three more bottles.

We do this for a while, hitting a bunch of different stores until we had enough to head in. We got paid $8 a bottle from the crooked bar owners so the goal was to get 20 bottles, make $160, head to the dealer, get enough for two hits, then take the rest of the money and put $10 in the gas tank and then go spend $6 or $8 on the dollar menu at Wendy's or Mc Donald's. It was a fun way to spend a Saturday or a Sunday, I'd get my dope free for the weekend then I'd be home on Sunday night ready for the next week or work.

With Two Liter and Bobby we took that to a whole new level. They were on to about ten different capers which was good because we could mix up what we did and not burn out the scam so we could keep on getting paid for as long as possible. These guys had a bunch of different things we could get in order to make money and it blew me away how easy it was to get and to make money on things I'd never even consider stealing.

Now you have to remember this was the mid 90's so being a booster was much easier than I imagine it is today. Not as much security, not as many security cameras, cash register systems weren't all computerized so you didn't get put on black lists like I'm sure they do today. Really stores were not up to speed on how to protect their merchandise and they must have just wrote it off then, not caring what they lost or who knows maybe they had the loses budgeted in.

Meat, booze, cigarettes, silverware, computer software, baseball cards, clothes, cabinet handles, Roundup, on and on the list went.I started off by just driving those two from store to store, then to the fences, then to the dope man. Soon after I became a return guy, which was when certain places would take merchandise back without receipts, I was a new face and I didn't at that point look like a junkie so I could get away with it easier. Eventually wanting to learn how to actually boost the goods and again because I was a fresh face with the stores and their security, I was taught how to actually get the goods.

At first I would just shadow Two Liter or Bobby when they went into a store. They taught me the routes in and out of the stores, what exactly I was going to boost, where in the store I was going to put the merchandise into my waist ban, how to act cool walking out of the store with the goods on me. I'd been running with these guys for a few months now and we'd been running schemes every single day but the heat was starting to get after those two and it was time to mix things up so the next logical step was for me to be the booster. I'd done enough follows and now it was finally time for me to do my first boost.

I got an easy one. This one took money something drug addicts couldn't hold onto for long but for some reason at this point we had the money tucked away to pull this caper off. What it involved was stealing the product then going back in and buying the same product with cash. What I was going to boost were cabinet handles, that's right cabinet handles. Cabinet handles came in a variety of styles and price ranges but most of them had a conventional two inch gap between where they were fastened to a drawer or cabinet. Stuff 20 handles in your pockets and walk right out the door. Easy as pie right. Off to Lowe's or Home Depot, or Central Hardware we went.

So in I go not following Bobby or Two Liter, I'm all by my lonesome. I had to the back of the store, out of the way where they have the handles. I'm looking around casually, not drawing any attention like I've been taught. It's early afternoon the store is kind of empty, and heck, you can never find a clerk when you need one right? There is nobody around, nobody following me, I'm just a construction worker coming in to buy some handles for the cabinets I'm installing this afternoon.

I find a nice looking handle for the $8.00, I open the drawer, yup, gotta be about 100 in there, plenty to steal and to buy. I look around quick, nobody even near me, not a worker, not another customer, it's just me. My heart is thumping slightly, but for the most part I'm calm as can be considering this is my first time at this. I count out ten and put them on top of the box that encloses all the containers of handles. I count out another ten and just leave them in my right hand. I scoop off the other ten into my left hand, take one more look around, cost is clear, my mouth gets a tad bit dry, my heart rate picks up slightly, my hands shake a tiny bit, one more look around, nothing, and I shove both hands into my oversized front pockets and drop the handles in.

I have on an untucked shirt that easily hides the pockets. The pockets are baggy enough that they easily hide the bulk of the handles. I turn and head toward the door taking a different route from my way in. I cut down one aisle making sure I'm not being followed. I get to the end of the aisle, make a right, walk down the main cross aisle, then head down a different aisle. Nope nobody following at all. I get to the front, I don't see any managers, any security, or any workers for that matter other than the check out clerks. I ease between two check out clerks, get to the front door, they automatically open, I walk out then....

....Nothing. Nothing happens. I casually walk over to the car, we don't see anybody after us, I let out a great big sigh and it was done. That fucking easy. I get a nice job man, way to go, how was it, and just that quick it's over. I walked in took the handles, walked out, all told took maybe 90 seconds. Man was that easy. The adrenaline started flowing and I started to really enjoy what I had just down. I was getting that rush man. Wow, life was so fucking good. Boosting, no job, no rules, make some money, shoot some dope, man, life is fucking good.

Anyway here is how the rest of the next ninety minutes of so works out. It won't be long before all three of us do get four caps a piece, which will be a real nice nod. Maybe we'll cop and go into Forest Park and sit in the shade, and watch the regular people play golf, of bike ride, or jog, or have picnics, doing whatever it is real people do.

So then the next guy writes down the SCU number of the handle, goes in and gets twenty, goes through the checkout and buys the 20 handles for cash. Say we got $8 handles that meant $160 plus sales tax of 6% so $169.60. Take the handles, the receipt and walk right out the door.

We'd wait for about thirty minutes, call the store up and say I'm Dick Hertz from Dumbass Construction and my guy was just in the store thirty minutes ago and he bought the some cabinet handles but he bought two inch handles and we'd already had the drawers and cabinets pre-drilled for 3 inches handles and we need to return these. As a safety we make sure the store doesn't carry 3 inch handles just in case they try to get you to exchange them. Nice right, always thinking ahead. So we go back to the store, we make a big tear in the bag and walk up to the exchange counter, telling the clerk we called, the manager said to bring them in.

She asks for the receipt which, oh shit, we must have lost with ripping the bag open. The clerk says, "well with no receipt I'll have to call my manager for approval." Now the manager come over and of course no receipt so he starts talking about no cash back without a receipt and here you lay it on thick. "Look sir, I'm the guy that just called, I was just in the store 30 minutes ago, I went through cashier lane number 4, that woman right there took my money. It was only thirty minutes ago...she'll tell you."

Sure as shit and it never failed, the manager walks over to the clerk, asks if she remembers this guy,

"Yes I do,"

"Do you remember what he bought?"

"Cabinet handles maybe?"

"Cash,"

"Yes I think he paid cash,"

Then the manager pull out the receipt roll from the register, unrolls it back, and yup there it is in black and white, 20 cabinet handles, $169.60, paid in cash.

"Okay sir, sorry about all that, you'd be surprised at the lengths people go through to commit fraud here. Please try to save all receipts as it makes this process much easier. Luckily we were able to look at the tape and see that you were here and because of that I'm able to give you your cash back. If not I would have had to issue you a store credit. I hope you understand."

"Well thank you sir, it was just a mix up, my guy isn't the sharpest tool in the shed if you know what I mean, pun intended, hahahaha....have a good day."

Back in the car, we drive down the road to the next Home Depot or whichever store it was where we got the handles, walk in, give the stolen handles and the receipt to the clerk, collect the $169.60 and off we go. Not a bad score for about 90 minutes time.

Riding a Bike

Wow, you can say I'm slightly out of shape. I rejoined the gym I used to belong to last time I lived in Florida and at least I'm smart enough to start off slow. I do plan on working out in either the mid mornings or late afternoons though. Yup, lots of hotties, not too many dudes, plus easy access to the machines, great combo actually. That and the fact those are the times I mostly spent long hours with my beautiful baby so I think that will help with the transition of moving on.(yes I'm struggling) Heck, maybe I'll even try some yoga as I saw about fifteen hotties coming out of the class when I was in there today.

Gym, beach, some rocking South Florida happy hours, golf, live poker, should keep me busy. Toss in a date or two and I'll be good to go in no time.

BBT is coming to an end and unless I somehow donk my way to a Mookie win, well I'll eliminated for the shot at 10K. If you are in the TOC good luck and hopefully one of the asshats can come through again and win the big prize. As for poker, I'm back to being all about the cash games and I better be because it's how I'm going to pay the bills. I'll take a shot at some MTTs every now and then but I'm going to stick to where I play my best and win. Back to grinder status and with Florida starting real poker on July 1, 2010 I look forward to hitting the felt in full force, taking down some of those retirees pensions and some of those tourist dollars. Once I do start grinding full time I'll keep all of you up-to-date on how I'm running.

This blog has been boring I know, and I haven't delivered any of the promised stories as of yet, so maybe what I can do is one day a week put together a story from the past and the other days you'll get poker exploits, dating/happy hour stories as I delve into the South Florida meat market, (perhaps pics included) and also some sports and sports betting. Maybe all of that will liven this place up somewhat.

USA-Czech Republic friendly tonight in a tune up for World Cup 2010, which I cannot start soon enough. I'm not sure how many of you are fans but I love soccer. Maybe it was from being raised in the soccer hot bed of St Louis and playing it as a youth and also playing in some highly competitive adult leagues throughout my 20s. I follow the US men's national team of course, I'm a huge fan of the English Premier League with Fulham being the club I support, and I also follow MLS and yes even college soccer. So I can't wait to watch World Cup 2010 and I can't wait to wager on World Cup 2010. Once the games start I'll post some picks on here in case anybody is looking to make a little coin during the month long extravaganza.

Nice. Phone just rang and that was one of my boys and it looks like Happy Hour is on for tonight. I doubt I'm ready to go get knee deep in some strange just yet because of this heart broken thing but hey I can get back out there and see how it plays out right. See if I still got that gift of gab with all the hotties and I'm sure it's like riding a bike right, you never forget how.

Big week for the Cardinals as the travel to San Diego to take on the surprise team of baseball, then back to Wrigley for the first series of the year against the Cubs. Brad Penny went on the DL and now it looks like Kyle Lohse will be joining him so the Cards might have three rookies in the starting rotation for the first time in probably forever. Hopefully the bats wake up and we can have a winning road trip.

I'm going to try hard to make Wednesday story day. I'm going to set some time aside today and knock most of it out so I can take you all on a ride tomorrow. I've narrowed it down to the first stolen car high speed chase, the first safe cracking, or the simple first day of professional shoplifting. I'll give it some thought and see which way my motivation takes me.

Oh and I'm glad to say I missed out on the night time soap opera called Lost. I know many of you did enjoy it so I hope you won't be too sad now that it's over and that maybe something else will catch your attention. Try some Breaking Bad, it's the best show I've seen on TV since The Wire and other than last Sunday's episode it keeps getting better and better, and unlike Lost it's based on Real Life shit and not some make believe soap opera. Give it a shot donks.

Reflecting

I've been doing a lot of reflecting the last week or so, taking looks back, playing the what if game, trying to chart a path going forward, contemplating, trying to make sense of it, and it all comes down to I'm not the sure what.

Although it doesn't seem it, it was fifteen years ago that, I basically gave up and threw what little of a life I had away. I can remember the freedom I felt when I finally said fuck it and quit my job, my family, my friends, and my life, and lived on the streets chasing drugs, stealing for a living, and not even pretending like I gave a shit.

It's amazing where we can sometimes find freedom, and my freedom finally came from no longer carrying or worrying, shutting down my feelings and emotions, and for the first time in my life really just letting go. I had a functioning car, registered and legal, which made me a valuable asset in the freedom I was about to pursue. I hooked up with some long time addicts, as their driver, riding them all over the St. Louis area so they could boost (shoplift) getting a percentage of whatever was made. We drove around all day, stealing what we could, getting high four or five times a day, crashing in a flop house or the drug and hooker motel, not a fucking care in the world.

I didn't think about the job at UPS that I walked away from after seven years, I didn't think about my family or whatever worry they might have had not knowing if I was dead or alive month after month, I had forgotten about my square friends, you know the ones that only drank too much and smoked too much weed, and I took to freedom on the road like I'd finally found my calling in life. My brain was shut off, I was totally living in the moment, the only care I had was the next boost or the next fix, nothing further ahead than that. I was young, wild, and free.

I feel as if I'm back to that point again fifteen years later. No, I'm not ready to give up what little I have to go back out and live a life of drugs on the street, but I'm looking again for that freedom I had fifteen years ago, and again, four years ago when I moved to Vegas, when I just didn't think past today, and I didn't look back at the past, and I just let go, turned off my brain, and lived in freedom.

Anyway with all that said, I know I promised some stories from the past, so maybe just maybe we'll go back to this era, where some unbelievable shit happened, some good, mostly bad, but definitely what you donks are looking for.

BBT 5 sucks ass, as did the MFTOPS ME. In the last three BBT events I never got more than 4000 chips, had shit for cards, couldn't hit a flop if I did raise, and was getting called my stations left and right. Disaster right! So what happens is my stack dwindles down, and I make some risky play in the hopes of doubling or going home. No sense playing that short stack ninja shit when only 1 or 2 players win TOC seats, and there are no points to fold to so fuck it, me go home before two hours if me have no cards and no chips.

In the MFTOPS ME we started with 7500 and I think I peaked at 8800. I was three seats to the left of this Italian maniac who was reraising anybody that opened before him and I was waiting to set a trap and get his ass. I floated him a couple times and was able to push him off hands but finally after having only one pocket pair in the first two and a half hours my chance came.

A big aggro stack raised in EP, and super donk Eye talian, does he customary reraise. I find JJ in the small blind and shove. The open raise was for 400, the reraise was to 1100 and I shipped about 6200 and felt damn good about it. The opener folded, and the super donk snap calls with 88. Needless to say an 8 on the river and instead of being up 13K (avg was about 10K) I went home. FML.

I do love playing those slow structure events, 7500 chips 12 minute levels, donks everywhere, but the suckout factor is extremely high but if you can avoid them early and build some chips, and are patient one can go far. Oh well, we'll try again in all the Mini-WSOP events Full Tilt will be running along side the WSOP.

The tournament was funny last night, my boy Chad was directly to my left and there must have been ten times nobody opened and it was a blind v. blind battle. We were showing down shit like 52 beating 43, 74 beating 23, and on and on. I did get TT once no action, and he once in the BB gets AA and nothing, it's folded around to him. Sucked balls.

I do look forward to when Florida gets real poker on July 1. I plan on playing a lot of live cash games and I'm going to bust my ass to build a big roll. The games are very juicy down here and that's with only $100 buy-ins. They will be much juicier when they start having 100-150 BB buy-ins on July 1. It's a great mix down here of old retirees, tourists, and young guns, and I think it will have a nice feel to it once it's up and running. It won't be up to speed with the Venetian or the always juicy MGM out in Vegas but hopefully my roll will allow me to spend 3-6 months a year in Vegas doing well in those games too.

6-9 months in Florida and 3-6 months in Vegas grinding cash sounds like a good plan to me. Less lazy/vodka, more hours grinding will be the plan. Sometimes you don't realize what you had until it's gone and I totally feel that way about playing live cash games. The second time is going to be the charm.

TGIF, or same old same old depending on your view.

Did you know that there are only four people that play sports? Yup. LeBron, Tiger, Tim Tebow, and Brett Favre. That's it man, nobody else is worth two shits if you are competing with those four...clowns.

Boston upsets Cleveland at about +300. Huge upset since all the analysts/idiots picked Cleveland to win it all since they have one of the Big Four LeBron but nope, the old cagey vets from Boston have a different idea and they spank Cleveland in Six. So instead of any Celtics props, or how well they played, or how spectacular their game plan was, or how fantastic their coach is, we get to hear where is LeBron going to play next year. Yup, LeBron of the zero rings, the guy who ends every single season with a loss, yup on of the Big Four Donkeys. Anyway, let's hope for a two good Conference Finals.

As awesome as I thought the Cardinals were going to be, they have holes. No clutch hitting, a suspect bullpen, and their minimum priced fill-ins aren't getting it done. Sure they should still win the NL Central but in a short series when pitching dominates, they could be in trouble. Teams will pitch around Pujols and force Holliday to beat them and from what I've seen of Holliday since he was traded last July, he can't hit in the clutch. A long way to go so time to shore up those holes so we'll see.

Be careful what you wish for. I faded away in the Mookie on Wednesday since I didn't get any AA or KK to get snapped off. So instead I got total shit cards and stole a few pots to stay afloat then faded away in the mid-20s. Ghey fucking tournaments? Nope. I think I'm going to get that TOC seat this week. I think I'm also going to play in the Mini FTOPS Main Event on Sunday. Sure there will be about 15,000 entrants (I refuse to use runners, it's so utterly British and ghey) but wtf, 7500 chips and 12 minute levels maybe I'll luckbox my way deep in that biatch. Fuck somebody is going to win a hundred fifty large, might as well be my unlucky ass.

Back Yo.

I'm watching my favorite EPL side Fulham play in the Europa Finals and it's 1-1 in the 80th minute. Fulham totally getting outplayed but the match is all square and anything can happen. I have a small wager at +235 that it ends in a draw after 90 minutes and injury time. Let's hope Fulham wins in the extra 30 minute session so I can collect the bet and see the lads get the Europa Championship.

I know Josie I owe you a story and shit it's probably up to two by now so cut me some slack for just a bit longer and I'll get there. Really I will.

I just heard during the Marlins-Cubs broadcast that there are accusations the Phillies are cheating and stealing signs electronically, and if this is so it's a big big no no according to MLB rules. I have not starting to look into this yet so no links but the announcer claimed the Mets were bitching about it, and now Colorado is making the same accusations. It's obvious that the Phils have easily been the best team in the NL for the last two years but if any of these accusations turn out to be true, well I'll have to put them in the Patriots class of cheating, you know the best team and to cheat would just be stupid because they are the best team. More will be revealed.

The BBT sucks so far for me but I am finally recovered from the last two savage beatings.. Maybe since I pissed of Al by talking shit to Michael Craig during Invitational #3 and Al had to hear about from his bosses, that Full Tilt has fucked my RNG even worse than usual. Ever since Al wrote me the riot act, I lost with KK < 55 and QQ AIPF, and AA < KK AIPF. I guess that's not so unusal though, that is six times out of ten I've played that I got two outed AIPF so I guess I'll stop bitching. I will say, don't let me get some fucking chips in the Mookie tonight because I'm going to win this fucker if I do, then I'm going to take that TOC, then I'm going to Vegas and blog every day about how wonderful the BBT and Al are and I'm going to go deep in the Main Event and get lots of TV time wearing all my FTP swag and maybe even one day I'll get a long hippy wig and glasses and wear that get up in honor of our host.

FUCK Fulham 1-2 horrible goal to give up in the 116th minute. Great run anyway.

Wow, it's Wednesday already, now I remember how easy it is to slack on writing (or anything else for that matter) and before you know it days, or weeks, or months have gone by and the old adage, "I'm gonna kick tomorrow," comes into play over and over and over again. Guess I'm going to have to pound away until it becomes a habit.

Seeing it's Cinco De Mayo, I'm not going to touch on the Arizona Immigration Law but so far I'm pleased that there has been no interference from the Federal Government, and right or wrong, I'm all about States Rights.

I don't give a shit what anybody says but if you run on the field of a professional sporting event well then be ready to get your ass tased. Who is to say if this idiot fan had a weapon, was going to hurt somebody, or what his intent was, so I'm all for the use of less deadly force, not just in this situation but in any questionable situation to stop a potential threat. I for one am tired for all the rights given to scumbag criminals and terrorists.

Looks like a preview of the NLCS this week as the Cardinals are in Philadelphi and playing tense playoff like games in the beginning of May. Last night's pitchers dual between Hamels and Wainwright was certain playoff mode baseball that unfortunately the Phils won in extras. The Cards need to win tonight against Kendrick seeing they have to face Halladay on Thursday with their #5 starter Kyle Loshe. I'll be checking it out on ESPN tonight.

I do have the MLB.TV package that allows me to watch all 162 Cardinal games and one of the interesting aspects is watching other teams play and getting to hear those other teams announcers. For every good announcing team there are probably three bad ones. I actually wind up watching a lot of west coast games after the Cards or Marlin games are over and I find myself watching more Seattle games then any others because I like their ballpark and they have great announcers. Same as I avoid the Dodger games because I'm one of the minority who think vin Scully broadcast games solo, he's boring, monotone, and tells too many stories. The more I think about it, I like Dick Enberg now doing San Diego games and Jon Miller who does the San Fran games so I do bounce around to those games as well.

Oh, I forgot about this last week but starting July 1, 2010 Florida is going to have real live poker. Up until now I think the highest buy-in for a tournament was $800 and the highest buy-in for a cash game was $100, no matter what limits the game was. How some of these donks played $5/10 with only a $100 buy-in is beyond me. They also extended poker room hours at the para-mutuals from 12 hours a day to 18 hour a day Monday-Friday and 24 hours on Weekends and Holidays. Once this kicks off I'm going to start playing a lot more live poker, probably on a semi-professional basis, with the goal being to again play full-time and to play between Florida and Vegas. Sounds like a plan to me.

Me and the girl are just about done even though I've been thinking that for the last few months. I'm just about to the point where it's time to fold and take what chips I have left and go find a new game. What's the hang up you ask? Well without a doubt the passion has not died by any means, man if you all only knew right baby, but the circumstances are just too difficult to overcome at this point, and a clean break is probably what's best but totally cutting off those ties so far has not worked for either of us. Let's see how it all plays out. Maybe some real heart break and pain and longing, mixed in with a little passion may make for some good emotional writing. That and some vodka.

This is starting to become a regular thing again. I think I'm starting a little slow but I will get into the habit of writing again, and I'll take you into the deepest and darkest reaches of my imagination or my memory as we'll hammer out some sad stories of days gone by. Until then, which won't be too long, enjoy the filler.

I will slide this in real quick. I'm grieving a little bit right now as I've suffered what I hope will only be a temporary loss. We are on a hiatus. It's somewhat mutual, it's somewhat forced, and it's definitely what neither or us wants yet we are on a hiatus. I fell deep and I fell hard. I don't usually fall at all but I fell deep and I fell hard. I'm still convinced there will be a reunion, a full-blown permanent embracing, the passion on both sides is too just great, but in the meantime, it hurts like hell.

Did I really just write that last paragraph and did I really just put it out there for all the world (twenty) to see?

Did that your mama is a HO story die down yet? I haven't gotten to my local reading yet but they are beating that topic to death down here in South Florida. The prediction now is nobody will ever want to play for Parcells or Ireland ever again? Really? Does that include Karlos Dansby and Brandon Marshall.

Let's talk football for a minute. We'll start with the media darlings the New York Jets. Remember they got gifted a playoff birth last year when they won their last three games after the other teams laid down for the season, then the luckboxed their way into the AFC Championship game and now they are certain Super Bowl contenders.

Somehow everybody thinks they had one of the best drafts in NFL history, graded A++ by all the "experts." Hmmmmmmm. A CB picked at #29, who may be very solid, a project OL from a 1-AA team in the 2nd round, a small undersized RB with no break away speed in the 4th, and a FB in the 5th. Wow, is that really a top-flight draft?

How about the additions they made to their team? Four players that were good or may still be good, all four players with monster egos and potential locker room killers. LaDainian Tomlinson, Jason Taylor, Santonio Holmes, and Antonio Cromartie. These four may have an impact, whether it's positive or negative remains to be seen.

Baltimore, New England, at Miami, at Buffalo, Minnesota are their first five games. A nice 1-4 start, Mark Sanchize throwing picks all over the place, lots of finger pointing and blame, the media jumping all over it, a season lost. You heard it hear first kids.

The greatest two minutes in sports is tomorrow. That's right the Kentucky Derby. It should be a wide open race this year as the heavy favorite, Eskendereya, was scratched due to injury this week and it's certainly worth a couple of wagers trying to hit the trifecta with surely some longshots hitting the board. I've whittled my list down to four and I'll box these together in some fashion. In no particular order.

3- Noble's Promise
4- Super Saver
12- Conveyance
20- Sidney's Candy

I see the forecast is for rain so who knows what effect that will have on all these three-year olds. Either way, my yearly tradition of a vodka on the rocks, splash of cranberry, don't hurt it, and the Derby will take place yet again. Maybe next year we'll watch it together baby, and definitely one year will go see it live.

Baseball, horse racing, NBA playoffs, BBQ, cocktails, on tap for the weekend. Can't go wrong there. I'll also start refreshing my memory on some safe cracking, drug abuse, high speed chases, woman, thievery, and other assorted tales of debauchery that we can tough on in the weeks to come. Fasten your seat belts boys and girls.

Is your mother a prostitute? That is the question.

If you follow sports at all I'm sure you've heard about this issue by now. Apparently Jeff Ireland, General Manager of the Miami Dolphins, asked Dez Bryant whether or not his mother was a prostitute during an interview with the much troubled WR out of Oklahoma St.

Here is the article that was first reported by Yahoo sports yesterday.

Now I'm certainly one who thinks that this country has been pussified and that nobody can say what they feel anymore less it be deemed insensitive and that it may hurt somebody's feelings. Now I can see where in certain instances perhaps sensitivity is the appropriate course of action, or maybe the better course is to not say anything period, and I can see where this might be a major fuck up in some sort of corporate environment, or work related function, but when it comes down to either the entertainment industry or professional sports, sensitivity does not apply.

Was the question in poor interest? Probably? Should the whole country be up in arms because of this? I think not.

This is the National Football League. This is a team doing it's research to draft a player directly from college and they are going to give him $30 million of guaranteed money. The chance this kid succeeds and the team gets its return on investment is maybe 50% at best, I think the team has a right to pry and research and investigate the potential player in any way they see fit.

And the bottom line is that Dez Bryant's mom bore him at fifteen years old, she has admitted to being a crack addict on and off for the past twenty years, she has spent time in prison for drug related offenses, she did abandon Dez multiple times as a child, yet Ireland is not allowed to ask Bryant any questions about his upbringing including whether or not his mom was a HO?

This should be a non-issue. I'm going to pay you $30Million than I can ask you any question I want. You don't like it tough shit. You can't handle a General Manager asking you questions like this, what are you going to do on Sunday when the opposing teams starting CB is standing across the line of scrimmage screaming that your mama is a Ho?

Now Ireland came out with the tough question but apparently 27 other teams agreed because Bryant, a top five rated player, fell all the way to #27 where he was picked up by the renegade Jerry Jones and the Dallas Cowboys. You want to be in the big boy league, in the big boy city, you better be ready for the big boy tough questions.

I did it again. I ran AA into TT and was sent to the rail in 36th place instead of being the chipleader. Sorry to disappoint but still no rants from me despite the major frustration of playing excellent poker only to take a massive beat at a critical juncture. I still don't know who won the two seats as I gave the gl all, then quickly signed off FTP and closed down the computer. So the scorecard reads AA < 99, QQ < 99, and AA < TT AIPF.

The three day NFL draft was quite the spectacle. I do like how they drag this thing out now as I like drafting just the first round, regroup, study more tape, work the phones, come back for two more rounds, do it again, draft for rounds 3-7.

Miami's draft is consistently being graded at C- and lots of fans down here are disappointed because they thought the team had certain needs that Parcells and Co. disagreed with and the message boards and call in shows were hysterical to read and listen to. I understand, but don't agree with, youngsters and the whole immediately gratification of society as a whole anymore but to have a huge majority of fans doubt Bill Parcells is laughable. His track record speaks for itself, his blueprint for success has been laid out for years, he's sticks to the plan and draft BPA and does not reach for needs, and he puts out big, strong, tough, versatile, high motor players, and teams that win. So stfu, trust in what he does based on experience, and realize what you think the team needs may not be what the big man thinks the team needs.

Anyway, IMO if you can get 3 starters and at least a couple rotation/special team players than the draft is successful. Miami was graded C- last year and they got 3 starters, a potential starter for this year, plus thee depth and special teamers so by my grading that equals A+.

Now for this year, and I included two players we got from Denver Brandon Marshall and Tim Dobbins, whom were traded for picks with the draft class, right now I see potentially freakin' eight guys who are going to come and contribute to this team immediately in Week One.

Tim Dobbins ILB- potential starter/special teams demon

1. Jared Odrick RDE – starter/rotation DE and DT in pass situations
2. Koa Misi SOLB- starter/special team demon

5a. Nolan Carroll CB- nickel back/rotation/special teams
5b. Reshad Jones S- potential starter FS/SS, special teams

So I'm seeing this as a fantastic draft and if it pans out as I'm hopeful than we will have a solid team and it should be an extremely tough battle with the Jets and Pats for supremacy in the best conference in football, the AFC East. Bring on the NFL baby.

Classic Powerball Winner

Interesting evening as the NFL draft took it's game to Prime Time. I've always been a NFL Draft fan and I can remember back in the mid to late 70s listening to KMOX radio in St. Louis and the hour long draft recap with the original draft guru, the late Joel Bushbaum. Now it's a three day showcase, aired in prime time with eight hour pre-draft shows. Absolutely amazing.

As for the Dolphins, I like the trade down with San Diego picking up an excellent slot to get a starting player #40 and also recouping the #43 pick we gave up for Brandon Marshall. Add in a special teams demon and ILB Tim Dobbins, who might even have a chance to beat the overrated and unproductive starter Channing Crowder and I give an A+ for the trade.

Now the pick of Jared Odrick DT from Penn St. at #28 was a bit of a surprise as scouts look at him to be a five technique DE in Miami's 3-4 defensive scheme and that is easily the strongest unit on the team. After digesting the pick over night I do think the pick will work as I'm sure they had this kid as the highest rated player on their board since they did pass on need and passed on Jerry Hughes and Sergio Kindle.

Odrick gives Miami more rotation possibilities, he can play DE on early downs and he can provide an inside pass rush on passing downs. The jury is out on whether he can eventually be a full time NT but I'm sure he will get worked out at that position as well. So as far as taking best player available and building to a strength I'm okay with this pick.

Today for rounds two and three I'm hoping we can get that pass rushing OLB, Sergio Kindle would work, then the best player available at TE, Safety, or Nose Tackle in the third.

My favorite pick of the draft was from purely a perfect fit as a person pick, Brian Bulaga OT Iowa. Dude has that massive block head, old school crew cut, that good old boy smile, and really just a humble and shy kid for being 6'5 and 320 pounds. If you needed a kid to play the part of an Iowa farmboy/OT Central Casting would immediately give you this exact kid He slides in the draft a little and winds up staying in the midwest and going to Green Bay with the 23rd pick. He was excited as hell about going to Green Bay and he loves the cold so I was cracking up because Bulaga is the perfect fit for that team.

Okay now there is no way I can make this up but here is a picture of your $258 million powerball winner.

Draft Day and Mookie 7th

Had a nice run to the Final table in THE MOOKIE but flamed out when my QQ ran into 99 AIPF and instead of being the cheap leader I went to the rail in 7th place. I busted Monday night when I ran AA into 99 so if you happen to have 99 when you are playing me, well prepare for the set and getting all my chips.

This is the first hand that got me going. I believe the blinds were 25/50 at this point.

On the turn there was a bet, Wes re-raised, then I re-raised again and called Wes' shove. No way I'm folding this OESF draw, it's either get a bunch of chips or go home early and I hit the straight flush on the river. From there I went on a big run, winning some huge pots including winning with AA over KK that had me in the chip lead with about 50 players left.

Oh well, it was a good run and I really thought I was going to win my 7th Mookie but they dreaded QQ was again my demise. Nice to see 122 runners out last night too. Was that the biggest Mookie of all time? I'm thinking yes.

Today begins what used to be one of my favorite day although it's now turned into a three day prime time extravaganza which is the NFL Draft. I love all the hype and I'll be tuned into the seven hour pre-draft special all day long on NFL Network. I will say that the NFL Network coverage of the draft is about 8000% percent better than ESPN and if you have NFL Network and you are a draftnik like myself I would certainly suggest giving it a go over ESPN. NFL Network blows ESPN and Chris "Fucking Retire Already" Berman and Mel "Helmet Head" Kiper. Mike Mayock and Charley Casserly are fantastic and they blow the ESPN loudmouths away.

I'm hoping Miami is able to trade down later into the first tound so they can recoup the second round pick they traded to Denver for superstud WR Brandon Marshall. I'm hearing some word that it might be with Philly who wants to move up and they also have two second round picks so that might make the most sense for both teams. I do think Miami will draft a pass rushing OLB with their first round pick as they now need to replace Joey Porter and the phony diva Jason Taylor who signed with J-E-T-S suck suck suck.

Here's my thoughts on the first twelve picks on how things will shape up.

1. St Louis Sam Bradford QB Oklahoma- Rams passed on QB last two years and they go with the top rated QB

2. Detroit Ndamukong Suh DT Nebraska- seems Detroit can't go wrong picking up either DT but they go with Suh. Detroit has totally rebuilt their DL this off season and it should be a strength on that team as early as next year.

3. Tampa Gerald McCoy DT Oklahoma- McCoy is the perfect fit for what I think is an outdated Tampa 2 defense. He's a quick one gap DT who can also rush the passer. Another Warren Sapp perhaps.

4. Washington Trent Williams OT Oklahoma- Williams is the surpise pick as he's the first OT taken off the board over Okung. Holy shit though, Oklahoma has three of the top four picks. How did they never win a National Championship.

5. Kansas City Eric Berry S Tennessee- KC can go OT here but I think there is too much value here for the Chiefs to pass up.

6. Seattle Russell Okung OT Oklahoma St- Seattle fills a major need on an OT that many have as the top rated.

7. Cleveland Derrick Morgan DE Georgia Tech- Browns can go a lot of ways here but I think they take Morgan a highly rated DE from Georgia Tech who can play stand-up OLB in the 3-4. Kyle Wilson CB could be the surprise pick here as well.

8. Oakland Mike Iupati G Idaho- Raiders will always make a surprise pick and I think they go with easily the top rated interior lineman. An OT is probably the better way to go but we all know Al Davis has what's left of a mind of his own.

9. Buffalo Bryan Bulaga OT Iowa- a QB may be an option here but I think they go with the OT from Iowa.

10.Jacksonville CJ Spiller RB Clemson- a surprise pick here as most have them going with one of the DEs.

11. Denver Rolando McClain ILB Alabama- many think Dez Bryant goes here but I don't think Denver wants another diva WR after dumping Marshall so they go with a solid LB who also fills a need.

12.Miami- I really hope this is a trade down to pick up a second or third round pick but if they are unable to do that I think without a doubt the pick is an OLB for the 3-4. Many of the Dolphin fans are calling for Earl Thomas S Texas to be the pick as it fills a huge need with a talented player but I just can't see Parcells selecting a safety this early in Round One. There are a handful of players who could fill this need at OLB so which one the do select is the mystery. Derrick Morgan if he falls could be an option as well as Sergio Kindle Texas, Jason Pierre-Paul South Florida, Brandon Graham Michigan but when they finally make the pick I think they make a big surprise and select Jerry Hughes OLB TCU.

Hughes is top flight edge pass rusher but also appears to have the size/speed combo to also hold the edge v. the run as well as being able to drop back into pass coverage. I see Hughes being able to make a smooth transition from hand on the ground DE to stand-up 3-4 OLB with the proper coaching from a fantastic coaching staff and becoming an instant starter opposite Cameron Wake as those two replace the old and tired Joey Porter and Jason Taylor. Add in Channing Crowder and top free agent pick up Karlos Dansby and Miami's LB corp will become an instant strength.

I'm fired up and can't wait for the fun to begin.

Glad that the BBT is back. After some confusion and an old email address I got everything squared away with Al and got added to the Invitational with the last wave of players. Unfortunately I ran good early and like shit late and went out with the ugly AJ losing to 99 and coming in 19th place. Congrats to JJ and Maigrey for securing the first two TOC seats.

This should be an interesting event with only 24 players qualifying to the TOC, (provided no multiple winners) so the pressure to win something is right there from the door. I know missing the BBT3 TOC sucked ass when I didn't qualify so hopefully I can knock the rust off what little of a tournament game I did have and I can win myself a seat.

I look forward to seeing some of the old faces back for the BBT5 and I do think this short and sweet 18 event qualifier should keep the rants and fights to a minimum. I know I've tried not to be a D-Bag since I've stepped away from poker for most of the last year so don't expect any epic rants from me anymore. I'm really a nice guy most of the time and I know there are more important things than poker so my idea is to have fun but the competitive fire will still burn bright so I hope like hell I can win a seat.

Major league baseball, NBA playoffs, the NFL draft, I like this time of the year. I'm stoked Miami went out and got Brandon Marshall last week and I know I'm already looking forward to the NFL season in September. The schedules will be announced tomorrow so that's always an interesting event in mapping out and predicting how the season may go. Add the three day draft coverage and I can get my football fix in Mid-April.

Is He Out Of His Mind

Hey, what's up? Good weekend on the gridiron with so many blow outs so it will be interesting to see what happens this weekend when the lines are higher and there are suppose to be blow outs. All four wild card winners have been impressive of late (yes even the fucking Jets) so it will be interesting to see if those teams can bring the momentum and pull some upsets.

I doubt there are many readers of this blog left but I'm sure those of you who still visit have wondered a time of two what the hell happened to me. I'm currently residing in Florida and I miss Vegas like crazy particularly after this record two week cold spell we've had here. I'm here for now and I have no idea what the future holds so for now you get me back in the not so exciting (for now) Florida.

I've been wanting to start writing again and since I've been so out of practice I haven't been sure where to start and what to write. I started some stories that detailed my past that got good reception, I had some "interesting" times in Vegas that I have not shared with too many of you, and I'm looking to do something fun and crazy here in Florida going forward that might be interesting to write about so I was thinking that had some options. Well today I think I figured out what I'm going to write about which I think will be interesting to those still around.

I'm going to rob the drug dealers who work a couple blocks from my house and I'm going to detail all the planning stages that goes into that endeavor. Yes, I've always been somewhat of a crazy fucker, who knows maybe some mental illness is mixed in with my fondness of opiates, alcohol, and sex but I do think this is something many will find interesting and it's something I'm no stranger at doing considering my checkered past.

Since this will be somewhat of a process I guess I can link and finish some old stories from years ago that I started on this blog, add a couple Vegas stories, talk about some day to day of what is going now, all as I plan and share a detailed heist with all of you.

Oh disclaimer. If there are any law enforcement officers who happen upon my ramblings, all posts are purely fictional and a figment of my imagination. If any readers recognize any likeness of yourself in my ramblings, it's purely coincidental. :)

I got this crazy idea walking my dog tonight. I'm going to use my skills to study this and to pull it off. Heck with so many detailed maps and satellite images online as well as digital camera I'll be able to show lots more details than even what I write. In life my back is to the wall as I'm like a short stack in late position and it's been folded around to me. I either need to shove or blind out and I'm not sure if I'm all about blinding out anymore. Fuck ya I'm fired up!

The planning starts tomorrow. Shit maybe even the first pictures will be posted then too.

Big Game is Back

As Al mentioned last week the BBT4 kicks off in March and it will start this Sunday with the Big Game.

I tried to get 3000 starting chips, 12 minute levels, blinds beginning at 10/20, which based on past history made for more play, but instead they gave us 5000 starting, 10 miunte levels, blinds beginning at 15/30. This is still a decent structure so with big enough fields we should still get plenty of play.

There are three big games during the BBT4 and to mix things up just a bit, the first and last events are the Super Stacks, and the middle event is a $24+2 (1r +1a). Now this is a slightly different variation to the ones regularly schedulded on FTP so hopefully this will still work out.

For $26 or a Tier I token players start with 1500 chips. Players may rebuy 1 time within the first two levels for $24 (1500 chips), then choose whether they want to do a one time add-on for $24(2000 chips).

Those that play these normally on FTP know you can add-on anytime in the first hour not just the first two levels. Again hopefully it works.

As usual, I thought my idea of 3000 starting chip MTTs with 12 minute levels, then a 1r +1a with 2000 + 2000 + 2500 chips would make for fantastic deep stack structures, FTP opted for faster quicker tourneys, perhaps not realizing the dollar amount of prizes to be given away. Regardless, I tried, although we are indeed playing for big time money once again this year so thanks to FTP and Al for putting this all together.

Let's talk some NFL.

How about those Miami Dolphins baby. Gutted out a win in the -12 wind chill of Arrowhead Stadium and now play the Jets with a shot to win and go from 1-15 to 11-5 and AFC East Champions. Chad Pennington has been a huge addtion and the players have certainly downed the Kool-Aid and bought into Tony Sparano toughness.

Too bad the Jets, Gag Green, chokers like their buddies the Mets, didn't get the job done to make it a winner take all game. Losing 3-4 leaves them needing to beat Miami and somehow having the Pats lose to the Bills to get in. I can't imagine a better scenario than Miami smoking the Jets and kncoking both them and the Patriots out of the playoffs.

Yesterday was an interesting day and I was amazed at which teams showed up and which teams shit the bed.

Philly, Denver, New York Jets, Tampa, and Minnesota fans should be sick to their stomachs. All your teams are horribly coached and acted as if they were playing a preseason game and not a game where a playoff game was in the balance.

Philly. Time to say good bye to Reid and McNabb. Enough choking already after eight years.

Minnesota. Down right awful. 7 fumbles, 4 of which they lost. That kid at QB Jackson flat out sucks. They have no shot to win win him and unless the Giants rest players and gift them the game next week they'll be home again for the playoffs. Let's not mention the biased judge letting all the dopers play out the season.

Don't even get me started on those pussies from Arizona who should have just cancelled the flight to Boston and stayed home. That was an absolute embarrassment and I have no respect for anyone on that team. Not one player gave a fuck about playing in the cold and snow and it was a total unprofessional performance. Bet early and often against them in the playoffs.

Who did show up? Miami of course, Atlanta, and San Diego.

For San Diego to be down 21-3 a week ago to Kansas Shitty then come back and win that, to destroy Tampa and now to have Denver at home and as 9 point favorites for the AFC West Championship. I hate San Diego and all they ghey fans but that team did not quit when their backs were to the wall. They beat Denver then they'll host Indy in the first round of the playoffs which should be a war based on those two teams history. Enjoy the next two weeks at the games Dollarsign and Tina.

Atlanta has to be the 2nd best story in the NFL other than Miami. What a turnaround and that kid Matt Ryan is an absolute stud. They might still wind up with a number 2 seed and a first round bye and they are a team built for the playoffs.

The games should be awesome next week. I can't wait.

Are there any horse racing fans out there? This Friday there will be two huge pick six carryovers. Aquaduct has a carryover of $159,027 that should get bet up over $1M and Hawthorne has a two day carryover of $227,137 which should also get up over $1M. Yes they are longshots but they are worth a couple tickets for life changing money.

Has anybody else put money on Ultimate Bet yet after reading Chad and Hoy kill those DS MTTs. The structures look too awesome and their results have been outstanding. Definitely something to consider.

Two days in a row. Wow.

So I'm watching TVG (Horseracing) yesterday and they show the entries for the sixth race at Tampa Down, and I see the #4 horse named The Lady Waffles. One of the announcers likes the horse and at 5:1 so I figure why not. I bet it to win and place then I do an exacta with #4 and all.

Here is what the recap in the chart says. The Lady Waffles set a moderate pace, shook clear in the stretch, then just got caught late.

Second place. So I lose my win and exacta bets but I collect on my place bet and guess what. I broke out even just like Waffles. True story.

Tonight is the finals of the Bodonkey and there are 14 of us with 5000 starting chips and 15 minute levels. Dreadful. I applaud the structure if there were 100 players but with 14 it will be like going to the dentist.

If anyone wants to get their gamble on go here. The max is only $25 which sucks but what I want to know is who is setting the lines? Dollar sign and Waffles are the favorites how fucking funny is that. I like this time of the year and no not for the holidays but the end of the season NFL leading into the playoffs as well as the college bowl season. Heavy duty football almost every day starting on Saturday.

I saw snow yesterday for the first time in forever. At my house there were quarter sized heavy wet snowflakes for a few hours that thankfully didn't stick. I did see that Summerlin and up by Red Rock they actually had 4 inches of accumulation which I can see out my front window on the Mountain. Amazing. After spending nine days down in Florida I'm for the first time I can remember feeling home sick for the sun, the green, and the beaches. This dreary overcast cold reminds me of growing up in the Midwest and its sucks.

From the trips reports it sounds like everyone had fun as usual. Glad you all enjoyed your stay here in fantastic Las Vegas.

Miss me? I didn't think so.

Not much going on in my life so there really is nothing to blog about.

I basically only play poker during the Mookie on Wednesday night although I have played a couple times live when people have been in town. Poker bores me to no end. Still I might try to play some online cash a couple hours a day just to see if I can run up my meager account.

Politics, I don't really care. Some of you might think I dig it but I don't...I do like pressing buttons though, particularly when reactions speak so loudly. (pun intended)

The economic correction? Bailouts? No interest. I don't keep money in a bank. I took it out of the hands of greedy crooks many years ago.

Stock Market correction? Took my money out of the hands of greedy crooks many years ago.

Housing correction? I don't own a house. Got lucky and sold mine a few years ago at the peak of the market. Good thing I got lucky there as the house near the beach in South Florida is now worth 50% less.

Baseball playoffs have been very entertaining. The best four teams remain, no Cubs fans your team was not one of them and hasn't been for 100 years, and hopefully we'll see two great LCS's.

I'm really surprised at the prices though. Philly opened up -140/+120 and quickly it's down to -110/-110 so all the money is on Manny. I bet the Dodgers at +120.

Boston opened at -155/+135 and that too was bet down to -130/-110 so lots of love on Tampa. I'm waiting until last minute and betting Boston as it will just be too perfect to see an LA-Boston World Series with the million of different story lines.

As always I enjoy football season. The Canes are still struggling with all the youngsters and it's dissapointing to watch but when all these true freshman grow up it's going to be a different story. The Dolphins have been a pleasant surprise and man did it feel good to beat two hated teams in New England and San Diego.

Last season had to one of the most difficult ever watching a team lose it's first 14 games before finally getting a win. I feel for the St Louis and Detroit fans out there as the longer it takes to get that first win the harder it is to get and no matter how much I like to see others suffer, going 0-16 would be dreadful.

On the gaming front, so far it's break even in college but I'm doing very well in the NFL. There are tons of resources out there and what's best if you do wager on the NFL is betting against the public. Some of my biggest winners this year have been with me and a handful of other bettors cheering one side while 98% of the patrons at Red Rock are betting the other side. Let's hope we can keep the streak rolling.

Vince Young needs a shrink huh? Nah, he's got his mommy. Now I'm not sure if this guy is a head case or not but man is he a shitty QB. Jeff Fisher is a top three coach in the NFL and that defense is a FORCE, imagine if they had a QB?

Philly- A healthy McNabbs could lead them to the Super Bowl
Pittsburgh- Strong on both sides of the ball. Watch out.
Dallas- Must be nice to have 12 seconds to throw the ball

Teams that were suppose to be good that didn't show up
Indy- should be fine once Peyton gets some reps
San Diego- I see another bad ending for the 32 consecutive year
Jacksonville- major injuries on OL

Teams you really don't want on your schedule
Buffalo- Solid offense, defense, and special teams.
Carolina- Tough nasty OL and DL. A healthy Delhomme is the key. Just ask SD.
New Orleans- High powered offense and just enough Defense

Still not sold on but could impress
NY Giants- tough defense, still not sold on Manning
Denver- looked impressive but it was the Raiders
Chicago- reminded me of two years ago. Forte and defense impressive.
Tennessee- Fantastic coach and defense. Is the Vince Young injury a blessing in disguise.
Green Bay. Good start from Rodgers. Lots of talent on both sides of the ball
NY Jets- Favre is a donkey but the Jets did spend $100M upgrading. Not sold on Mangini.

Teams 1-0 but don't get your hopes up
Arizona- One playoff win in 60 years
Baltimore- Still a tough defense but offensive issues
Atlanta- Impressive debuts by Ryan and Turner. Still in for a long season

Teams where fans have hope but I see not living up to the billing
Minnesota- no pass offense, no pass defense and a brutal schedule
Tampa- see above
Cleveland- no defense brutal schedule
Seattle- weak division but way too many injuries this early
Houston- overrated QB and a nasty division

Almost time to stick a fork in after one week
Miami- only way is up after 1-15
Cincinnati- need a new GM, coach, players, city, etc.
KC- Herm Edwards blows as does Carl Peterson
Oakland- Until Al Davis dies this team will suck
Detroit- 34 points to Atlanta. Looks like back-to-back 32nd ranked defense
Washington- Zorn looks lost. Two minute drill anyone?
St Louis- Another three win season?
San Francisco- Nolan stinks.

Football is Back

I've played two Mookies as my only form of poker in the last two plus weeks now that football started. I don't miss it at all. Boring, boring, boring.

Poker blogs are dead huh? I mean some people frequently blog but it rarely has anything to do with poker other than to brag, except for maybe three people who actually post poker thoughts and strategies. Hey I'm in the non-poker group also. Just like blogger MTTs, it was fun while it lasted though.

Football is back and that takes a front seat to any thing else going on. Baseball pennant races are a distant second but until the playoffs are here it will remain a distant second.

I spent all day Saturday and Sunday at the Red Rock and man life is good once again. Not too big a crowd on Saturday but Sunday the place was packed by 8:30am and stayed full all the way through the late games. The casino gave out some free money on the Jets and Cowboys but took a bunch back with the Vikings, Colts, and Chargers losing.

I was happy with the Hurricanes performance on Saturday even though they lost by 23 to a highly overrated Gators team. Eight true freshman saw considerable action Saturday and although our offense needs major work the future looks bright down in Coral Gables.

That Urban Meyer is a real classless scumbag and he showed it again trying to run up the score late. Florida dropped Miami from the schedule after we started beating them down every single game so I guess he was looking to extract some revenge. Unfortunately that pussy won't play the Canes again until 2013 so we should have one or two National Titles again by then.

USC-Ohio St should be fantastic this weekend...provided the Luckeyes show up for a big game which they haven't done for a few years. The line opened up at 9' and was quickly bet up to 10' so the lines makers don't see the Luckeyes showing up. That's a lot of points for a big game and it will be interesting to see which way the money flows.

Expectations can be tough especially when things turn hopeless. I KNOW all the donkey Patriots fans were thinking about 19-0 with their easy schedule but they sure didn't see Tommy Brady going down for a season with a blown up knee. It's going to be interesting to see how they do going forward with a QB whose last start was 1999 in High School. Fuck, they haven't won a ring in three years and sure looks like it's gonna be four. Sorry NE, no dynasty, we hardly knew you.

Now no expectations and only hope to get better is not the greatest thing either but after winning one game last year and totally turning the roster over this year means 5 wins is a fantastic season. The Jets were clearly the better team, even with Favre throwing up Hail Mary's, but I was happy that the Dolphins didn't quit and still had a chance to win the game at the end. They've rebuild the OL and DL, but we still need big time help at WR and LB so I'm smart enough to know that nothing matters but getting better until 2010.

As for the Survivor Pool, 42 entrants and 17 are already gone leaving us with 25 heading into week two. All the players with two entries, six total three left, are in Group II so those in Group I can't see those players. Indy and San Diego going down knocked out the most as did some of us (my 2nd entry) donked off on a bad Detroit team.

Back tomorrow with my thoughts on the NFL teams and who we can eliminate after Week 1.

The leaders of the Republican party have always been smarter and way more organized that the other party and it's starting to show again. Everyone knows Bush has been a disaster, myself included, and this ticket is distancing themselves as far away from Bush as they can, smartly comparing themselves to one of the greatest Presidents in history, Ronald Reagan.

Unless someone is a hard core liberal, I'm baffled beyond belief how they can pull the lever for the Democratic European-African-American Candidate. Do we really want him in charge of the greatest FREE Country in the history of the World?

I had to tear myself away from college football to watch the dog and pony show and it did not disappoint.

Yes the Democratic nomination can speak off a script. I'm give him mad props the man can speak. But really is he qualified to lead the greatest capitalistic country on the planet or do we just want do be some donk country in the socialist EU?

Cut taxes? Are you kidding me? Democrats cutting taxes is a joke. There is a reason that Democrats have had only one re-elected President since the 1940s and it's the American people are not interested in being Socialists.

And you all want change right? Here is some change.

George Bush has been in office for 7 1/2 years. The first six the economy was fine.

A little over one year ago:
1) Consumer confidence stood at a 2 1/2 year high
2) Regular gasoline sold for $2.19 a gallon
3) the unemployment rate was 4.5%
4) the DOW JONES hit a record high--14,000 +
5) Americans were buying new cars, taking cruises, vacations abroad, living large!

But Americans wanted 'CHANGE'! So, in 2006 they voted in a Democratic Congress & yep--we got 'CHANGE' all right. In the PAST YEAR:

1) Consumer confidence has plummeted
2) Gasoline hit an all-time high well over $4 a gallon how high will it hit in '09!
3) Unemployment is up to 6% (a 12% increase)
4) Americans have seen their home equity drop by $12 TRILLION DOLLARS & prices still dropping

6) The Dow is at 11,700 $2.5 TRILLION DOLLARS HAS EVAPORATED FROM OUR STOCKS, BONDS & MUTUAL FUNDS INVESTMENT PORTFOLIOS!

Do you own a home, invest in your future, care about your job or livelihood? Or are you some liberal do gooder who needs to monitor every ones thoughts, determine what is or is not politically correct, and suck off society or help those that do?

First Fix of the Year

Nothing much new to report. Bad cards and bad luck on the MTT front this week but have stayed level with some cash wins.

Speaking of level the English Premiership starts tomorrow and I am excited about that. I'm also going to take the plunge and bet on a couple games and see how that goes. I killed the European Championships in June so let's see if I can keep the soccer, yes soccer momentum going.

Baseball pennant races are heating up as we get to mid-August. Both the Cardinals and Marlins are still alive but right now the class of the Leagues seem to be Angels and Cubs. I'm sure the Cubs will find a way to choke so I'm not so worried about them.

I've started looking hard into the upcoming football season and I will make a couple season total and Super Bowl plays. I'll let you know what I come up with next week. I can't fucking wait for football to start even though the Canes are rebuilding and the Dolphins blow ass but there is always hope.

Survivor Football

Two more Bodog tournaments two more final tables.

Too bad I got a 7th, when my AK was no match for the always powerful Jack Ace when he flopped broadway and 6th when my JJ lost to AK with the K coming on the river. Oh well, $3K from Bodog in the last three days was much needed.

I've decided to have a contest this year and I'm hoping for a big turnout.

This is open to bloggers, friends, family, friends of friends, whomever wants to take part in a winner take all competition.

For those that don't know, survivor football is you pick one NFL team to win every week. If your team wins the game you move on to the next week, if your team loses or ties you are eliminated. Sounds easy right. The catch is you can only pick a team one time over the course of the season.

Entry fee will be $20 and a contestant can submit up to two entries. My ambitious goal is to have 250 entrants with a $5,000 winner take all first prize. I'm going to run the contest on Yahoo Fantasy.

Now one problem is Yahoo can only hold groups of 50, so we're going to have to do multiple groups provided the need is there. I will "Host" every group as to keep up with the contestants and I will make my picks the same in every group with it being only one entry. (Unless I submit two entries then I will have my two picks in groups 1 and 2 and my group one picks will be every other group)

In the unlikely event more than one contestant goes 17-0 then all prize money will be split. If all the remaining contestants lose in any given week, they will all stay alive for the following week.

Technically this was a Sunday major. Got cards early, survived late with agression/shit, finally jammed Ks8s into KK five handed. Oh well.

After a nice BBQ I ended my night with this.

A huge shoutout to Pauly for Hosting the Tao5 tournmament last night and another big shoutout to the Borgata for Throwing the gig and kicking in the $5K first prize.

It's still amazing to see the dollar amounts these online sites have thrown at us and now adding a brick and mortar the bar has been set even higher. Thanks again to Al, Smokkee, and Pauly for hosting these events and for the sites that kick in the huge cheddar.

Will there be an end in sight? Let's hope not.

It's almost time for the NFL so get ready for a hopefully HUGE Survivor Pool soon to be announced.

August 1st Part Two

Wow, when I haven't written for a while I've been told to just write. Well I did that and edition 1 has no rhyme or reason.

Michelle Wie. WTF. She has no LPGA tour card, she barely makes cuts on the women's tour when she gets sponsors exemptions, never mind winning yet they continue to invite this side show freak into PGA tour events. Don't get me wrong, she's 18 and I would surely fuck her but why she's playing with the men when she can't compete with the woman is beyond me. Let's be real. Men are the superior sex when it comes to most anything so, take a hike bitch.

Back to the story. It started as a significant August 1st day and it turned into something complete different than where I was going and unfortunately you'll all have to wait to see why August 1st was at one time significant. Regardless that was how I copped. I did it three or four times a day for a long time although there was some breaks in the action. For this August 1st shit there was no break in the action.

My grandma died in January 2005. It was my first family member to go and it also brought up a lot of feelings about my best friend Jeff that died, who I'll get into sometime down the road, but it also stirred up a lot of guilt. My grandma, (Mor Mor pronounced Moo Moo after her Swedish 2nd husband) the good Irish woman that she was, liked to drink and I'm sure I got the "gene," what our huge Irish family likes to call instead of addiction, from her. No hard feelings mind you, in our fucked up family those with the gene had the talent, yet with the talent comes with a broken mind.

My guilt lies with the fact that while I spend my teenage summers in Worcester, it was so hard for me to make the trek to West Boylston to see Mor Mor on a regular basis. I would rather gang bang with my friends, and finger the girls (they didn't put out so much in 1979) that worshipped me up on Grafton Hill than make the drive and have dinner or a drink with my Mor Mor.

Anyway, back to the point. I forgot to mention I got paid on Thursday at 1pm and would go cop immediately and get back in time for work at 5pm. I'd get enough for a shot before work, a shot after work, and I'd be good to go. My money usually carried me through to Sunday night when my check would nearly be gone and I wouldn't use again until Thursday thus avoiding what could have become a serious physical habit...not knowing how bad the psychological habit had become.

What do I see so often...rinse, wash repeat or some shit like that. That was my life. Thursday through Sunday getting and staying high, Monday through Wednesday, obsessing about getting high, hoping that I had $15 left over so I could figure out a way to make a dozen eggs and a bag of potatoes, as well as getting my smokes, make it until Wednesday as I worked in the UPS warehouse.

The fateful day came in February. I got my check and for some reason the page back said, "Nothing until at least tomorrow Hip." Oh fuck. I'd had this one source and it was good as gold man, they had their hours, they always had the product and what quality product it was. Some new kid I'd been running with, which means I was charging him for me to get him his shit, had an idea.

"I've got a connect in Jennings for coke, I'm sure he can hook us up with the dope."

After not saying anything for at least two minutes my addiction took over and off we went to Jennings. Little did I know the horrible consequences of this trip.

Lost in a hole. Thankfully most of you are as well. This is not part three but a random Act.

August 1st.

Looking back it means a lot. Same as I shoulda stuck with Gina Blandina or I shoulda put my efforts into baseball instead of drinking, basketball and banging the sistas.

I'm 43 and still lost; thankfully I can look back with some clearity that I can't find even today.

Let's go back to 1995.

I had a good job at UPS, I had a good roommate, and my bills were at most $500 a month. My problem was a six-year hidden heroin habit.

I thought I was all slick that nobody knew. I'd been evicted from two or three apartments already, but only due to bad circumstances. Family and friends had been picking up my pieces although I was oblivious to it.

My heroin addiction was hard core. I was getting my $500 a week check from UPS in Earth City at 1:00pm, cashing it at a check cashing place since no banks would have me, then driving to the North Side to cop. I'd cop at Popeye's Fried Chicken or down a deserted alley way of Redd Foxx Blvd wherever it was they told me.

See back in those days, I'd hit a pager number from a pay phone, and of course the pay phones always had a number and they always called back. No matter where I was and for the most part no matter the time of day the phone would ring back.

"Yo it's Hip," was always my answer as somehow I was dubbed Hippy due to what was my nearly fashionable mullet.

"Where you at" was always the answer.

This time it was a Gas Station just off I-70, straight across from Lambert Field where I could watch planes land at what was once a busy airport.

"Get you some bread, get their in 20," was the answer.

Thankfully it was close and I wasn't going to the South Side or the Central West End.

Get bread meant, off of Broadway, lined up on the side or road, parellel to the Wonder Bread plant in what was then neutral North City. It will be a fun ride since their will be at least ten other cars waiting in line to what will be a run into the Calvary Cementery. The hope was I'd get early in the parade and the hope was I or any one else in the parade wouldn't get jacked.

For the uniformed here is the routine...you would page the man, they'd give you a twenty (location), a time to be there and that meant get ready. Im most cases you'd be twentied with anywhere from four to ten vehicles, which then of course meant an unreal seen.

You'd wait at the "twenty" usually with two to four people in every car and what was always the case was a delay. They'd tell you fifteen minutes it would usually wind up forty minutes to an hours.

So all of us in wait would get out and chit chat once the time became too long. For those of you who had to wait for a dealer, particulary, one how sold opiates, and for those that were sick, the wait is undesribable.

Anway, here come "Slim" driving down the way, and as something you've never seen out of a movie, everyone stops "wraping" and jumps into the car. This shit is no joke, one car drives down the street and suddenly ten cars comes off the side chasing the lead car.

BTW, even though we are all looking to cop some Heroin, there is still an order amongst thieves and that means, just like in poker, we all want to be in first place.

Slims car may run a few stoplights, dart down some back alleys, and for this run he does both eventually running down an abandon street in Calvary Cementary.

The lead car slides to a halt, ten cars, none with any regard to safety, only their own fix in mind, have all been on the tail of on another.

Today I ruled, I was number two and worked hard to push this dyke Cynthia out of the way as we finally crossed the final alley and made out way into the cemetary.

Once the lead car stops three large black men caring baggies get out. Slim, the driver gets out with his AK 47.

What now happens is organized chaos. The first to the dealers give their money, get their goods, and peel out trying to avoid the chaso that has ensued. The rest line up to get their stuff.

As being the lead car, me, JT, and Drunken Pete got our goods, now the question is how far do we go to do our fix. Our outfits, (Everything required to shoot the heroin) is hidden in the car but do we chance stopping in the cementary or do we risk traveling all the way to somewhere, always with the chance we'd get pulled ovdr before we'd shoot the dope...

She was so HOT!!!!!

We'll I've finally emerged from the depths of where Grubby took me Friday night and thankfully when I woke up two days later with the finest Columbian girl one could ever think of wacking off to, even wrong-handed, I was still single. How a hot-assed stripper would fall for my charm and boyish good looks after I explained to her I try to play poker for a living and my wallet is basically dry is beyond me. Although all the blogger girls who fancy me probably understand but still.

It was nice to run into Al, who rumor has it walked home from the strip club thankfully too broke for even a cab, Grubby, who interupted my interlude searching for his ever elusive keys, Iggy, who I finally got to sit and get trashed with after many gatherings of missing connections, and yes even hopefully I was a source to his zen like day two achievement, and my man Otis, the best writer amongst us poker bloggers, who indeed bought me a beer, even though we didn't get to chat much.

Speaking of writers, the WSOP has gotten so long even Pauly has dried up and run out of material. Like rehab maybe WSOP writers should only commit to at most 28 days since it's all we probably have in us at one shot. No wonder Michalski comes in late and drunk most days...which does indeed crack me up.

Speaking of late and drunk, why is it that the pot heads look down on the drunks? The best writers in history are drunks or heroin addicts and certainly not pot heads. Wow. Congrats to Mickey and Mallory, the Natural Born Killers of the MTT world amongst us bloggers. Mickey got I think his 11th win in the last three month and a near miss second place finish for Mallory in the MSOP $10r just missing out on the bracelet.

I see the Supreme Court finally got most of it right in handing down it's opinion on gun control. Locked and loaded baby.

NBA Draft tonight. I'm interested to see if all this talk that Miami doesn't like Michael Beasley is for real or just some giant smoke screen. The best part of this is Miami officials have not said one word on whether or not they even like or dislike Beasley so most of this shit is just made up stories by what is a no longer reliable media. If you can't create controversy, start rumors, or have a contrary opinion then there is no room for you as a reporter in the sports world.

The cash games have been super juicy here in Vegas although I've had a lot of up and down sessions. The Venetian has easily been the best place in town to play cash this summer and I think it's becoming the most popular room. The Bellagio is and will always stay packed but the room sucks ass and that place caters only to the high rollers so a lot players playing lower than $10/20NL are making their new home at the Venetian.

We all know LA is such a fake, soft, plastic, style over substance city so it was good to see the Lakers fittingly play up to LA standards. 131-92. Really? Kobe my ass! Still ain't won shit since Shaq left.

I'm glad that Boston won since I bet them to win the series even though we have to listen to the obnoxious NE fans. I've seen thousands of Red Sox and Patriot hats both in Miami and Vegas but never a Celtic hat. I'm sure that will change soon as all the front runner fans will claim they've been loving the Celtics for the last twenty two years while the teams sucked even though none of them sported any gear.

The bookies got rich during this series in a perfect example of them baiting the public to bet on one side. Some of you dinosaurs will still argue that the bookies want equal money on both sides but as a business and a business dealing with gambling and degenerates they too are also looking for an edge. Their edge was the public perception that the Lakers were all things glamourous and that the donkerific public would bet LA all series long. Well Boston won the series, Boston won four ML bets three which were at + money, and Boston covered the spread in all six games. And most everyone still bet on LA. Go figure.

I had a bet with two individuals that I would either at 5:1 finish one or two off the bubble, or 10:1 would finish exactly on the bubble at the Mookie.

Sadly I missed the Mookie money and finished exactly on the bubble shoving 97o from early positon losing to AK when a 7 and a K showed on the flop.

Oh well, the $23.60 I missed out by coming in 7th was more than compensated by coming in exactly 8th. Don't try that at home kids.

Fucking 4th in the Bodonkey last night what a disappointment. I restole with 77 four-handed and got called by AQ and lost the flip. Not sure how with a raise and reraise jam one calls off their stack with AQo but what do I know.

A big thanks to Smokkee for putting together this whole Bodonkey gathering and if you ask me it was a highly underrated series and I liked it a whole lot more than the endless BBT series and I can't believe it didn't get a higher turn out. Either way, it's bad ass that we bloggers can play out private tournaments for big time cash and prizes.

The Tuesday night Skillz series is in need of a host so if anybody wants to step up and keep that Tuesday night tournament alive go for. There are no more scheduled events after last night so if someone wants to host and needs info on how to set it up with FTP then send me an email and I'll give you the details.

There will be no Big Game in July but I will bring it back either in August or September. Hopefully there are enough of us who will continue to play for the nice prize pools even without the BBT on the line.

I talked to Hoy last night about playing a lower buy-in tournament while some of the bloggers are here and it looks like the $330 at Caesars is the best bet. 15,000 starting chips and 50 minute levels so if you do play and plan on going deep be prepared for a long day. As we bust from the tournament we can get a blogger cash table going also. So if anybody feels like hanging out on Saturday see you at Caesars.

I'll be playing cash Friday at Venetian so if anybody is interested stop on by. The Rio for cash games is beat really, particularly during the day, so the Venetian is the hot spot this year.

Did anyone watch the USA-Argentina game last night? 80,000 fans gave the game a world cup feel and thanks to Tim Howard making five amazing saves and one US shot blasted off the crossbar the match ended 0-0. It was though a fantastic game and both teams were going at it full force. Now its time to blast Barbados next Sunday in the opening of CONCACAF qualifying for the '10 World Cup.

The #1 ranked Canes made another trip to the CWS beating Arizona two games in a row after losing the opener. This years CWS is loaded with powerhouse teams so there is still work to be done. The only downfall of college baseball besides listening to those ghey aluminum bats is how long the games take. Fuck 4 hours are the norm and the games just seem to linger way too long.

Had a break even stretch this weekend at the tables. Card dead sucks ass.

So far the best cash game action has been at the Venetian so it might be something to consider for all the poker players rolling in this week. The lack of space at the Rio has severely limited cash options for most of the day not to mention the shitty game set-up. $2/5 is the lowest game and the buy-in is only $500 so add that with the allowed Mississippi straddle and you are basically playing $2/$10 with short stacks. Push monkey cash poker for those who enjoy that.

The Venetian $2/5 is $1000 max with no ghey MS straddle so it's DS poker and not a shove fest. The $1/2 games with the $300 max are juicy as well. It's always fun when there gets to be $5-7K on the table and playing $1/2 with those who aren't very good. Super soft baby. Also most of the tournament action starts outside the poker room in the new tournament area so the cash games are inside and plentiful.

Not sure if everyone heard but the Venetian has increased their starting chips from 10K to 15K for the $540 and the $1060 tournaments. I've noticed the difference by seeing how many more players are still alive during the dinner breaks now compared to last week.

A nasty sinus infection has left me home bound all week but I'm finally over the hump and will get back to live play today. I've been itching to get out to the action but forced myself to stay at the crib until I was 100% ready to go after the donkey dollars.

I did play a couple mini-series events on FTP and also qualified for the Bodonkey two-table SnG for $12K this coming Tuesday so it wasn't a total loss.

I'm highly disappointed for not making the TOC for the BBThree but some bad decisions and some definite bad luck kept me from winning anything. I did get a 2nd in one of the Big Games so that financed my attempts and somehow I bubbled five final tables, two of them being Big Games, so all in all I guess I sucked. Good Luck to everyone in the TOC. I'll be at the Venetian playing live so I guess I'll read the recaps.

Watching the Lakers-Celtics last night sure brought up some good memories for me. As a decent hoopster back in the 80s I could not get enough of the Bird-Magic series' so watching the game last night had me strolling down memory lane. Bird and Magic saved the NBA, and some of the greatest finals ever were in '84, '85, and '87 when those teams went head-to-head. Of course I was a Celtic fan back in those days rooting for the whitest and ugliest team ever. I did throw a wager on the Celtics to win the series at +150 and I financed that bet by taking the Celtics last night and laying the 3. BEAT LA BEAT LA. Speaking of LA, who gets paid more, Clipper players, Dodger players or USC players?

I see a lot of talk about poker reaching it's peak then going into some sort of decline. My response is, "Are you kidding me?" I'll take the over and any prop bets out there. A lot of states are changing legislation and opening or expanding poker rooms and from everything I hear those places are packed. Also, I will wager anyone that online poker will be perfectly legal in the US within no more than five years and most of us will be playing online at mgmmirage.com or stations.com, or caesars.com. So what if poker is not working on TV and truthfully I don't think it needs to. Live rooms are packed, tournaments are packed, online sites are posting huge numbers, the poker boom is far from over.

Time for the start of the absolute best time of the year here in Vegas, yup you know it, tournament donkey heaven! I'm so excited to spend the next 6 weeks grinding and grinding in the hopes to turn out a fat profit from all the tourney donks at the cash tables. Yea Baby.

I happened to be at the Rio on Wednesday morning and as soon as the satellite room opened there was six single table satellites running within 5 minutes. The cash games opened about four hours late and the action was instant. Weak, who is staying at my crib for the series, who knows exactly how minutes to Wapner and who is definitely an excellent driver, was down there yesterday and the cash games were packed.

If you are playing cash there $2/5 is the smallest game they have and it's only a $500 max buy-in. Also the Mississippi straddle is effect (the button can straddle to $10 and it takes precedent on any other straddles) so technically everyone should be straddling their button. And if everyone does turns the game into $5/10 with shallow stacks so I personally think it sucks. No idea why they won't make the max buy-in $1000.

I was at the Venetian yesterday and there was decent action there. They have added 26 tables right in front of the poker room bringing the total to 74 as the anticipate big crowds for their Deep Stack Events. One thing I will mention about Venetian is they use the auto shufflers for both cash and tournaments. Caesar's, Binions, and Rio do not use shufflers and IMO with the lack of quality of WSOP dealers, I'd say you'll see eight to ten more hands and hour at Venetian which will add up if you go deep. I'll be down there again today so I'll let everyone know how big their opening tournament gets.

Unfortunately no hookers last night. About thirty minutes there is a raise, two callers, and on the button I get 3d 3c and also call. Flop is Ad 8c 3h. Initial raiser bets, there is a fold and a call, I reraise and we get HU. Turn is a blank, we get it all-in and my set of 3s beats AK. Very nice a fast double up. Too bad I didn't get to enjoy them.

I catch KK and lose to a shorties 77 who flops a set. I then get QQ and QQ and lost to a set of 9s and a set of 8s. I lost minimum on both hands thankfully. I also lost to set over set but again I took only minimal damage as their was an Ace on the flop and river which slowed us both down as we both were worried out sets might have been counterfeited by Aces full.

So from up $300 in thirty minutes to cashing out down $97. I was very positive though about the session as I made some sick laydowns that kept me from losing a lot more. The Venetian will be rocking today so hopefully I can catch some cards and stack some donks.

BTW, how ghey was that three pointer at the buzzer last night in the Lakers game that totally changed the spread outcome. I heard a huge roar when the game went final but didn't realize at the time what had happened. I had no action on the game but I'm sure the Laker bettors were ecstatic and the Spurs bettors were pissed off by getting one outed on the river. Why did that asshole even take the shot? Oh I know, no class typical of the NBA!

The NBA playoffs have been terrible and that doesn't even mention the horrid officiating. It's blatantly obvious the league wants an LA-Boston final and it wouldn't surprise me if the refs received a memo stating such. And don't even start to debate this as we all have proof the NBA is fixed. Did anybody read the cheating refs allegations that players and coaches were in on fixes? The NBA squashed it quickly but I can't wait to see what comes out in court. Online Poker is fixed, NBA is fixed, NFL is fixed, what else?

Fed up with Internet tom foolery I head down to the strip to try my luck there. I get a non-incident trip, head north on I-15, exit at Spring Mountain and decide to park at my usual spot, Treasure Island. No sense hitting the valet as the walk, which is way shorter than crossing the strip and parking at Venetian, will do me good on two accounts. I can do that visualization going in and I can review my session on the way back, either lamenting or telling myself how cool I really am.

I get to the Venetian and put my name on the $1/2 list. I'm 5th on said list. I walk around and check out the action, particularly the donks playing $5/10, you know, those with money to burn but really average at best, getting eaten up by the locals. I also see and of course flirt with my favorite cocktail waitress and my favorite dealer.

Soon enough they call my name. I get send to a temporary table in the corner and see I'm about to be the big blind. I shout to the dealer, "deal me in," and surprisingly he gives me cards while he yells, "chips on table 49."

I scurry over to my seat and see that seven of the nine players have more than the $300 buy-in. I wave off the chip runner and ask the Indian (middle eastern) dude if I can trade one $100 bill for chips. He does and so I have 20 redbirds and two $100 bills in play, the table maximum.

By the time I get the chips and look at my dealt cards, Ad Qd mind you, the action is around to me and there are 4 limpers and the SB has completed. Now as most of you who have played live in Vegas know, there is a certain bet to chase out those who will limp call, and of course as soon as one does they all pile on so at this point I'm not sure what the number is so I just check my option.

Really I could make it $25 but as I mentioned I'm not sure of this table and I in no way want to play the first hand OOP for $125 in preflop.

Flop 9d 6d 2d. Wow.

SB makes it $15. I call right away hoping for a reraise so I can go right over the top. The Indian dude calls and three of us see the turn. Ts.

$75 in the pot the SB makes it $50. Well, first hand what do I do here. I decide to just call hoping there will be some more action around the table. Indian dude calls and we see the river.

$225 in the pot.

SB shoves for $500.

I am fairly certain I have Ad Qd but I'll look one more time just to make sure. Yup I have the nuts.

So I call. Indian dude folds and SB turns over Kd Jd for the 2nd nuts. Woot Woot, or BOOOOM, or Roar, or Choo CHoo. A quick $400 right away.

Three hands later in the CO I get Ad Kd and I raise the two limpers to $15. The BB calls as does on limper. The is Kh 4d 3d. The BB donk bets $30 and the limper calls. I make it $130. The SB shoves, the limper calls and I have to call with the flush redraw and TP. SB turns over Ks Js and with no help I take his money too.

I've been there four hands and I'm up almost $700. Am I hot or what? So now the debate wages in my mind, do I try to win more, do I have a couple cocktails maybe, do I pack my shit up and head to the crib, or wait, wait, do I take some profit and go bang a hot escort?

First thing I do is order a drink. A drink will always make me think straight right. HAHHAHHAHAHAHAHH. I fold with shitty cards for another couple orbits and I order another drink.

Now the cocktail waitress that has eyes for me has just started her shift, and the sexy as all get up masseuse girl who totally digs me is only halfway through her shift so with a two cocktail buzz, $700 in winnings, and tired of rubbing them out I get a brilliant idea...escort time.

Now this isn't the time for my usual nineteen year old latina or college student, slender and petite, I'm seriously ready to roll so I dig in deep in my phone and find just the answer.

We broke records here in Vegas yesterday at 108 degrees. Man it's too early for that heat. Good thing a front is suppose to blow through tonight so it will be 103 today and then highs in the 70s for the rest of the week.

Has anyone checked out this new site called Poker Player Winnings? Looks like they just started tracking all the cash games on FTP so it will be another tool in looking up opponents to see how good or bad they are. Now that all the tournaments, SnGs, and cash games are being tracked we can keep an eye on who is really a break even player.

I took yesterday off from poker as I needed to rest my ass from the beats so I'm refreshed and ready to win some cash today. Skillz has disaster written all over it and like so many other Skillz events it will certainly come down to a card catching contest.

Good Luck to me. Also the Bodonkey is down to the last three events and there are only about 4 players safe at this point to make the top 18. I happen to be in 18th so I definitely need to pick up some points tonight. I really want to play in the two table SnG for $12K as it appears to be my best shot at a prize since I've done shit in the BBThree.

Will Miami get fucked in the NBA draft lottery tonight? Anything below 2nd is a bad beat. The NBA has rigged these things before so lets see where the Knicks wind up.

The Conference Finals should be good this year as the top 4 teams are left to fight it out. Can Kobe and the Lakers knock off the Spurs dynasty and can the Celtics handle the Piston to set up a glory days match-up of Celtics-Lakers in the finals. I mean really who wants to watch Detroit and San Antonio play in the finals? Boring!

Hello boys and girls. Miami Don is back with tales from the felt. It seems I do very well playing live and not so well playing online so I'm going to start a couple new segments on this here blog.

The first is, "Ass Fucking of the Day" and please don't any of you homosexuals or anal loving people get all over senstive on this alright.

Here I will portray my worst hand of the day. Now sometimes said "ass fucker" has no choice but to commit it's chips on what is to be a cooler so no fault of theirs if they didn't know better. But yes fault all of us for playing on FTP since they don't pay out anymore but that's a topic for another day.

Here I find 3 limpers in a $.50/$1.00 game and I make it fucking $8 to go. Well I get three callers. Seeing I have position and both donks check in front of me I fire at that pot. So what do I get? A check raise jam. Later I losee again with QQ. Someday I'll learn to play QQ like 22 but like most of you out there male and female I'm turned on by being with two bitches.

Did anybody watch the Players on Sunday? Of course I have to eat shit since Sergio the donkey won but come on did he win it or did Goydos lose it? Goydos had three bogeys in the last five holes and he had quite an easy chip from right in front of the 18th green that he chunked forcing a playoff. Don't get me wrong Sergio played very well but Goydos blew a three shot lead with five to play so don't tell me Sergio went out and won this thing.

How dumb are those Survivor players? To let that skank Pavriti win is downright embarrassing. It did shed some light into how stupid men are though. Guys will fall for any shit that comes out of a woman's mouth just because she has a vag and every guy deep down thinks he's gonna get some. Here is a word of advice guys. Act uninterested sometimes. Play hard to get occasional. Don't act like some pussy whipped fool, stalker, insecure donkey. It works like a charm!

A democratic house and a democratic senate sucks huh. Wait until that preacher gets in office and it will be the Carter administration all over again. Broke dick economy, taxes out the ass, fuck we'll turn into some socialistic Pseudo-euro donk country. I can't wait. The only good thing about Carter was one of the greatest Presidents in this country's history took over. Save our country folks, vote Republican!

About those screen shots. I've discussed those at length with a couple trusted buddies and they were both a matter of bad luck, bad timing and yes a couple mistakes on my part. I'm working hard on my end game for both satellites and MTTs and I'm convinced you can't be a nit at the end of these things. Folding into the money in satellites doesn't always work, and waiting on big hands in MTTs just to shove A rag into some higher A rag doesn't work either. If you look around, those who actually WIN MTTs, and I'm talking about big field events and not 83 player bloggaments, play highly aggressive at the end and those who get close on occasion but don't win are way too tight. No need to list names we all know who is who.

I've been having fun playing a lot more HU cash and MTTs lately. HU is such an interesting game and although there is luck involved with being on the right side of the cooler, it seems better players will win and win big over time. My strong suit in poker is reading people and it really seems there are not a lot of real tricky players out there in the lower limits I've started playing. I'm sure that will change as I move up but for now they seem to be highly profitable.

Also there is a fun $22HU MTT on FTP that starts nightly at 23:45. That might be a little to late for all you east coast snobs but it is an interesting event. They've been getting 256 nightly and are getting real close to making it to 512 which will make for an even fatter prize pool. Also, don't forget this Sunday BBT Badass Loretta is hosting a $26 HU MTT at 21:00 also on FTP. Sign up early since they will only allow powers of 2 to enter so if you wait until the last minute you may get cut. The max allowed is 64 and it would be great to see this thing fill every week.

A quarter of the season done in baseball and plenty of surprises out there. I wonder if we are seeing the fallout from HGH and juice as there seems to be big dropoffs in offensive numbers. That whole Padre team must have had juice parties as they are hitting a not so stellar .233 as a team. Has Toronto scored more than one run in a game in the past week? Also there are eight entire teams hitting .250 or below which is just bad. It is fun watching all those kids for the Marlins mashing balls all over the park.

Does anyone watch Survivor? Man was that kid fucking stupid last night to fall for the bullshit those four bitches put on him. I know he's some dumb 21-year-old kid who works in an ice cream parlor but please kid. I thought that brother James was the dumbest ever survivor player but nope now they is a two-way tie for first.

Anyone wanna bet Sergio's putter lets him down at the Players this weekend? Why does he even get some much publicity anyway he's never won shit?

I'm an soccer fan and I'm looking forward to Sunday's finale in the English Premier League. No not to see who wins the Championship but to see if Fullham can continue their amazing run and avoid relegation. A win and they are through but they can still get by if either Birminghman or Reading lose. I root for Fullham since they have Brian McBride as their captain along with a couple other "yanks" on the team so it would be nice to see them get through.

I think I'm finally back to normal after the fantastic weekend at Mookies. I knew I was out of shape but two days of golf and not much sleep had all of us extremely sore.

That was actually my first time playing golf since last years WAM and I do think I have the fever once again. When I lived in Florida and owned a business I probably played golf 3-4 times a week and absolutely loved it but once I moved to Vegas poker and laziness took over and I just stopped playing. I think though it's time to change that up. I'm going to go hit some balls today and who knows maybe I'll sneak in 18.

No real poker to speak of. I'll be back at the live cash tables this weekend so hopefully I'll win some monster hands that I can post about. I did play Razz with you donks on Tuesday and man is that a fucked up game. The limit tourneys blow anyway since the structure sucks and it becomes a 70 person card catching contest but with razz it's just plain retarded. I think I will donk up some Donkey Catchers tonight so see you there.

Congrats go out to Lucko and his monster run. His BOOOOM is one of the gheyest things I've ever seen but fuck can that guy play MTTs. Vegas Lucko!

My trademark is pending with the Push Fest so as soon as that is complete you donks will have to call it the Miami Don Push Fest or my lawyers will be all up in your ass!

Back from Austin

I'm back donkeys and I'm bigger, badder, and as classless as ever so get used to reading some regular posts once again. Oh and try not to get your feelings hurt either.

Weekend at Mookies was a blast as expected. It was great to catch up with some of my true friends and share some (surprisingly few)drinks and many many laughs. Thanks again to Mookie and Mrs. Mookie for hosting once again. And for all you lame-ohs who backed out your big-time loss. I'll have more updates this week and I already can't wait to do it again next year.

A big shout out to my boy Waffles for winning player of the month in April. My hope is that he plays in a live WSOP event and doesn't pocket the money. Come on Wes make him play. If somehow Waffles does win the TOC and the ME seat does anyone want to dress up in a Waffles costume and rail him down at the RIO? We could make a terrific scene real.

Final Two

Ever have one of those weekends where you lose under $100 after three long live sessions and feel good about it? Well that was my story. I ran into a handful of ugly coolers but thankfully in live poker I can somehow fold the second best hands and by doing so I saved a ton of money.

I played an 11 hour session at the Venetian with Alan on Friday and although we were clearly the two best players at that table we both had losing sessions; me from coolers, him from a donkey going runner runner perfect on an all-in pot.

For a $1/2 game with a $300 max buy-in there was about $7500 on the table and it was a rather juicy game. Whether it was limped or the raise was $20 we had 4-7 players in every flop so the game was all post flop play. Somehow the two donkey calling stations wound up the big winners.

The Venetian DS started on Friday and they got an amazing 240 entrants for the $330 buy-in event. Saturday they only had about 160 but they also had a $540 at noon and with the Final Four games going on that lessened the crowds. For those of you considering a Venetian DS event in June they are planning on record fields. The room has 48 tables but they are clearing all the slots out of the area directly outside the poker room to bring the total tables to 75. They anticipate up to 1000 players for their $330 events and 700 for their $540 events so some very big prize pools will be in play.

I'm excited about the NCAA Men's Finals tonight as I think the two best teams in the country will be playing each other. Hopefully we will see a good tight game after having to deal with two blowouts on Saturday. I'm not betting the game and will watch for enjoyment purposes.

How goes the BBThree? I read a few blogs where everyone was bitching about the behavior in the chat boxes. Seems some people are tired of the smack talking and all those stupid BOOMS! Now I talked a lot of smack during BBTwo but I retired it when I was playing BBThree but my opinion is, right or wrong, adults can't tell other adults how to act. There are choices out there which I think are ignore the offenders, turn off the chat, or don't play.

Also I read a lot of old schooler's are pining for the days of playing a tourney with buddies without all the asshats like it used to be. Well the blogger tourneys have evolved into cutthroat affairs with tens of thousands of dollars at stake so unfortunately those days are gone probably forever. My suggestion is for people to start some more "friendly" blogger tournaments ala
Saturday's with Dr Pauly where it's more about fun and hanging out then it is about a $12K WSOP ME seat.

My online career will now consist of the Tuesday skillz game and the Tuesday Bodonkey. I finally did what I should have done months ago which is trade all my online money for cash. I left a couple hundred bucks online so I can still donk around if I feel like it but by converting my virtual chips into real cash I will stay more focused on where I show the best profits; live cash games. So I guess I will be missing out on all the whining and bitching and Booms but I feel like I'll have a real and not virtual life once again. And as I posted before may the biggest fish win the $12K and its my hope that the winner has never once typed Boom in the chat box.

Man I love fantasy baseball. I only have four teams but they are all highly competitive. I won two last year and finished second in another one. Four for Four is the goal this year. Man is fantasy baseball 789x better than donkey fantasy football.

Are we going to get a big turnout for the Summer Classic minus the A-Listers and inner circle? Will Waffles still book that flight that is due into Vegas Friday at midnight but never seems to get here until 2am?

Congrats to all the bloggers making the big scores last weekend. It's nice to see some many big cashes already this year and we're not even done with March yet. I can't wait to see who the first one is that cashes for six figures, not counting winning the BBThree.

I didn't play much poker this weekend as it was all college hoops for me. I did manage to turn $500 into a very nice sum and I also banged a super hot 19-year-old escort but she wouldn't let me take any pictures without paying double so unfortunately I don't have any cool screenshots. Oh well maybe on my next score.

The first weekend of March Madness was a blast and for some reason the Cox Cable here in Vegas had all four games on at once, which sure beat the hell out of paying extra for it. So between the TVs, and the computers I was definitely multi-tabling the games.

Does anybody know if Billy Packer is done fellating Stephon Curry yet? Yes that kid can shoot but get off the mans cock already Billy. He has to be the worst commentator this side of Joe Theisman. My guess is you'll be listening to him at the East Regional in Charlotte this weekend where he will be fellating Psycho T.

The crew over at Awful Announcing have their grades up from the weekend if anyone is interested. I'm sure they also be posting the regional announcing crews as soon as they are made public. Please CBS, let Gus Johnson do a regional final this year.

Looks like tomorrow starts the blogger parade through Vegas. I have plans over the next four weekends to meet up with bloggers for hoops, poker, meals, oh and yes cocktails. It should be exciting as I start to emerge from my Winter Hibernation and start getting back on track playing live cash, working up to be battle ready for the juicy six weeks of WSOP cash games. I can almost feel the heat of walking across the Rio Parking lot as well as the smell of dead money. Is there anyplace on the planet better than Vegas in June?

March Madness Rules!

Since last week beginning with Conference Champioships all my days, other than donking in the BBThree or Fantasy Baseball drafts have been college hoops. I love this time of year.

Watching and betting on college basketball blows away folding cards and bad beats. So much more excitement and so much more profit.

So that's my story and I'm sticking too it.

Hope everyone is running well whether it's college hoops or poker.
